5 under £5

I had all good intentions of joining in with this fantastic linky from the lovely Julia at Rainbeaubelle last month, but time seemed to just run away. The idea behind it is you choose 5 things that you have purchased for £5 and under. Obviously not boring stuff like washing liquid and tins of beans, but lovely things that have made you smile. So here are my five items under £5.

5 things under £5

I love the framed print that I got from Ellie Bean Prints for just £5 in the sale. I have put it on our new picture shelf in the playroom, and yes it applies to daughter with the ‘no whining’.… Continue reading

Hywel

This is my husband wrapped up in what I like to call a large piece of tin foil.  It was just after he had finished his second competitive 10k last week, at Oulton Park in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. He came a very impressive 34th out of 400 runners with a time of 43 minutes and 32 seconds. Well done love.

Ikos Olivia

Do you ever read a blog or review, and wish you were at the place the person is writing about ? That is how I felt when I read Katie’s post from Mummy Daddy Me, all about her wonderful trip to the Ikos Resort in Greece. Katie and a group of other wonderful bloggers had stayed at the Ikos Oceania hotel. They also got the chance to visit the brand new Ikos Olivia hotel, which at the time was not open to the public. It opened in May 2015, and since its opening I have been dreaming of visiting this stunning new hotel.… Continue reading

We were recently sent 2 boxes of crafts from Baker Ross, a delivery which always has my creative 10 year old very excited. The first box was filled with crafts from their Spring range. As we are starting to see glimpses of Spring this week (hello sunshine and flowers in the garden), the 10 year old was eager to make a start on the Spring crafts.

Baker Ross

We started with the butterfly wands which were really easy to put together. I love the simple instructions that come with all of the Baker Ross crafts. Even a creative novice like me can follow them.… Continue reading

It has been one of those weeks where I have felt a little out of sorts (hello hormones), was unbearably tired and more snappy with the kids. I really should take the advice from my new print below. I am sure normal service will resume soon. It has been a fairly ordinary week getting back to the school run and ferrying kids to clubs. We did have a lovely night out on Saturday night with friends and ended up going for a curry at midnight. It has to be done right…. Here are my Little Loves for this week.

We are very excited that we will be attending our very first family festival at the end of May.  Geronimo Festival is back for a second year at Tatton Park in Cheshire, and also has a new venue at Harewood House near Leeds. Tatton Park is less than 30 minutes from where we live, so we will be heading there on Sunday 29th May 2016. Geronimo is also at Tatton Park on the 30th May, and at Harewood House on the 1st and 2nd May 2016.

Geronimo Festival

Geronimo has created a festival that will cater for the whole family. Having a 10 year old and 13 year old, I really struggle for days out that will entertain them both.… Continue reading

NOW TV

A few days ago I posted about what we were looking forward to with NOW TV. I wrote about how Katie, aged 10, has already been hooked on the Nickelodeon channel, as it shows some of her favourite programmes. The channel can be found on the NOW TV entertainment package, and has a great mix of programmes from SpongeBob to The Haunted Hathaways.  Katie has picked out her top 5 Nickelodeon shows which are perfect for tweens.

I have to admit that I often find myself laughing out loud to Sam and Cat, and it is a firm favourite in our house.… Continue reading

Chester Grosvenor Hotel

Last weekend the husband and I had a fantastic break away in a 5* hotel in Chester. We explored, we drank, we ate and we pinched ourselves that we were staying in a 5* hotel, something neither of us had done before. The rest of the week was spent decorating our playroom. And with any DIY project the whole house seems to be up the wall. I am currently sat in the dining room surrounded by a huge Barbie house and LOTS of toys. Hopefully it will all be done by the end of the weekend. Amongst the chaos of last week, here are my little loves.… Continue reading

Now TV

Last week we joined the NOW TV Blog Squad and The Williams family are very excited to be part of it. It has come at just the right time as we cancelled our Sky subscription a few weeks ago. Our viewing habits have changed drastically over the years, and we very rarely watch programmes at the time they are broadcast. Add to this the increase in our subscription, and I decided it was time to cancel it.

We have had the NOW TV Movie package in the past and really enjoyed it. Being part of the Blog Squad we are getting the movie, entertainment and sports package.… Continue reading

After years of being on the ‘DIY to do list’ our playroom is finally getting a makeover. The mint green walls have gone and have been replaced with ‘chic shadow’ grey. The border with pastel animals on has been ripped down, and the brightly coloured storage boxes have gone to a new home. With the kids getting older, we wanted the playroom to be more of a second living room. It will still need to house all of daughter’s toys and dolls she still loves to play with. So I created a Wish List of things I want for our new playroom.… Continue reading
