When I was presented with the teens Christmas list back in September, I knew there had to be a little discussion. Whilst only 4 items had made the list, on the top was a PlayStation 4. I kind of knew this was coming. He has a PlayStation 2 which he got earlier on this year, thanks to the increase in retro gaming. It cost him £30, and whilst he enjoys playing on it, the graphics are not the best. Plus you can’t chat with your mates like you can on the PlayStation 4.
So ‘Santa’ had to use some negotiating skills.… Continue reading
A few weeks ago we decided to spruce up our bathroom. We fitted our bathroom about 10 years ago, and to be honest it was just starting to look a little tired. Husband spent the best part of a day, scraping off the mould on the ceiling and repainting it. Whilst he was working hard, I got the fun job of looking around for new bathroom accessories, and of course making him cups of tea.
I started dreaming of a completely new bathroom. We have a beige bathroom suite, but I would love a shiny new white bathroom which seem to be all the rage at the moment.… Continue reading
I have been suffering with migraines on and off for the past 10 years. Thankfully I had a few years of being migraine free, but in the past 6 months they have returned. Migraines are so debilitating, and can affect people in different ways. I tend to get severe pain with nausea, and unfortunately no medication seems to help.
The only relief I get from my migraine is using Kool n Soothe. Kool n Soothe is a fantastic product, and over the years I must have gone through boxes of them. So I was pleased when Kool n Soothe kindly sent me some samples.… Continue reading
As a family we have been holidaying in the UK for 13 years now. Our very first family holiday, with our son, was to a Haven site in Filey, Yorkshire. I still remember our last night. We were sat on Filey beach, enjoying a hot chocolate with all the trimmings, and I remember a feeling of sadness. Sad that our very first holiday was coming to an end. That moment could well have started my love of holidays. You see before having the kids, hubby and I had only been away twice. Once to Benidorm, and to be honest I remember very little about that holiday, thanks to the all inclusive vodka.… Continue reading

Well October seemed to go in a flash, as most of the months are doing at the moment. Its a Sunday evening at the end of half term, and I must admit we have had a great week. Prior to the kids breaking up I had 2 things in the diary. A Halloween party for Katie and a visit to The Crocky Trail in Chester. But then I was offered the chance to review The Blackpool Dungeon and The Tower. So on the Sunday we headed up the M6 for a fun filled day in Blackpool. Here are our 10 reasons why October was awesome.… Continue reading
As part of my ambassador role for The Crocky Trail in Chester, I was invited to their Halloween event, The Crocky Horror Show. Anything with the word ‘Horror’ in it would usually have me running for the hills. But having a teen and 9 year old, they were excited to be heading somewhere that could potentially scare their mum. We decided to visit on the Wednesday evening. The Crocky Horror Show is on from the 20th October and ends on the 31st October. If you visit on the 30th or 31st, you get the added bonus of a firework display.

We arrived at 6pm when the night started, and parked easily. … Continue reading
On Sunday as we were driving along the M55 into Blackpool, we played the usual game of ‘who can spot The Tower’ first. A few hours later and we were at the top of The Tower, seeing who would be brave enough to stand on the glass floor. No trip to Blackpool is complete without setting foot inside the world famous Tower. The Tower Eye Experience is priced at £13.50 per adult on the day, and £10.50 per child. If you book online, prices are cheaper, and they also offer combined tickets for other Blackpool attractions.
The entrance for The Tower Experience can be found on level 5 of The Tower. … Continue reading
What better way to start the October half term holidays than a trip to The Blackpool Tower Dungeon. My husband and son have visited the attraction before, but it was mine and daughters first time. I am usually the one who stands outside the scary attractions, but this time there was no getting out of it. The Dungeons are located underneath the famous Tower, and the main entrance is at the rear of the landmark. We got there around 10.40am as we were booked in at 11am, and there was a small queue at this time.
We first did the obligatory photo shot, where I was accused of a ‘nagging’ crime…..… Continue reading
When I was offered 2 tickets to Play Expo a few weeks ago, I knew this was an event for the husband and the teen. Play Expo is a huge gaming exhibition which was held over 2 days at Event City in Manchester. It gives you the chance to try some of the latest games, meet famous gamers that are on YouTube, and even chat with developers of the games. Whilst the boys were enjoying the day at Play Expo, I was busy girlie shopping at The Trafford Centre. So I shall pass you over to my husband to continue with the review.… Continue reading
