Back in July we visited the Mitsis Roda Beach Hotel which is in Roda, Corfu. This was actually our first beach holiday abroad as a family. The children have been abroad 3 times to Florida. We knew going on a laid back beach holiday would be something totally different to the fast pace of a Florida holiday. The reason why we decided to go to Corfu was simple. Our close friends were getting married over there, and we felt honoured they had asked us to go. After searching round for the best deal, we booked a package holiday with Monarch back in January to fly out on the 28th July for 1 week.… Continue reading
I always get a little emotional at this time of year as we say goodbye to another Summer holidays. Don’t get me wrong, I am definitely craving the return of routines and the daily clock watching. But I must admit we have had a ball yet again during this Summer. I used to dread the long 6 week break when they were younger, wondering how I would fill each day with activities. But as they get older, they are pretty self sufficient, and the tween spends some time outside the house
playing with hanging out with his friends. So what have we done to fill our time this past 6 weeks.… Continue reading
On Friday the 6th June 2014 Center Parcs will officially open its 5th holiday park in Woburn in Bedfordshire. I was one of the VERY LUCKY people who got the chance to visit Woburn on a trial break 2 weeks ago. I have to credit my best friend here, as she was the one who was offered a trial break, and invited me and my daughter to go with her. From the minute I got the text I was beyond excited. I LOVE Center Parcs and all it stands for, and have visited Whinfell over 10 times. But here I was getting the chance to go to Woburn before it opened.… Continue reading
You may remember a few weeks ago, I blogged about booking our £69.00 bargain break to Scotland in a caravan. Well we returned from our break on Friday and I thought I would blog about our trip.
Our break was to Auchenlarie Holiday Park which is in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland. We had previously visited the park 5 years ago, and had a great time. Again this trip up to Scotland did not disappoint. I knew we had booked a standard caravan, which had 2 bedrooms and a fire in the living room. We took our trusty electric fire too for the bedrooms, as everyone knows Scotland can get quite chilly.… Continue reading
As you know I love holidays, and as soon as the kids go back to school after half term, my thoughts quickly turn to the next holidays. Our school breaks up again for Easter on the 4th April, as our borough now has a ‘spring break’ . This will always be the first full 2 weeks in April regardless when Easter falls. Anyway over the past week, I have been looking at places to go which are nice, and are also cheap. We are heading to Corfu in the Summer holidays so I knew there was not much money in the holiday budget.… Continue reading
Last weekend as a half term treat we booked a night at Splash Landings hotel. Splash Landings is one of the two hotels that are based at the Alton Towers resort in Staffordshire, and we have stayed at the hotel a few times before. When I booked on the telephone, the lady advised me that during the February half term there will be Moshi Monster entertainment. My kids had not really bothered with Moshi Monsters in around a year, but they were excited when I told them about our trip.
When checking into the hotel the kids were given a Moshi Monster magazine which they loved.… Continue reading
On the day of my 40th Birthday I was presented with an envelope from my hubby. Inside it said that I would be going away for 3 days on the 24th January in a ‘forest lodge with hot tub’ location unknown. From that minute I was counting the seconds till the 24th which was a huge 9 days away. My hubby never gave anything away to where we were going, and as we packed the car up last Friday morning, the Sat nav was turned away from me. I am quite surprised he did not lock me in the boot !… Continue reading
2 years ago we were lucky enough to spend the Christmas break at Centerparcs. We had been 4 times around the Christmas period for their Winter Wonderland, but never for Christmas Day itself. We only booked the break at the beginning of December, and after deliberating about it for weeks, a stressful day at work for my hubby gave me the YES love you can book it.
The next few weeks were a blur of excitement and mild panic. Panic from my daughter as to how Father Christmas would find us. As we were booked to see Father Christmas on Christmas Eve, I suggested we let him know our lodge number.… Continue reading
As you may have noticed from my blog we love going away. Around this time of year I find myself looking around the internet for some inspiration for a Winter beak away. We LOVE going away at this time of year, and 2 years ago we were lucky to spend the Christmas break at Centerparcs. Other years have seen us go away for a few days before the hectic Christmas period starts. Whilst others may hate the stress of going away at this hectic time of year, for me it encourages us to be all sorted for Christmas. I can go and enjoy a few days away knowing the presents are all wrapped and shipped off to Father Christmas !… Continue reading
I LOVE holidays to the point where I think I am bordering on becoming a holiday addict. I suppose there are worse things to be addicted to… though I am sure the credit card would not agree.
Its funny as when I met my husband we only went on 2 holidays before we had the children. One of them was to Benidorm for a week (I dont actually remember much about this holiday… All inclusive… lots of vodka… say no more) and the other was to Mexico for our Honeymoon.
We went on our first holiday when our first born was 9 months old.… Continue reading
