Get to know the Williams’ World – 20 random facts about me

I was very kindly tagged by the lovely Stevie over at A Cornish Mum, to answer 20 random facts about myself.

When was the last time you cried ?

That is an easy one, as it was around 4.30pm on Tuesday. It has been a challenging and emotional week for me, and I have cried more times than usual. I am an emotional person and I tend to cry when I am sad, angry, upset, even happy. I even cried at the end of The Greatest Showman.

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself ?

I am really lucky that I have an amazing circle of friends, and I would like to think that I am a loyal, kind and pretty awesome friend (I hope my friends are not reading this and disagreeing lol), so yes I would be friends with myself.

Do you use sarcasm a lot ?

Me, never (lol)

What’s the first thing you notice about people ?

I found this a really hard question to answer. I would probably say appearance such as hair, clothes, oh and if they have a Cath Kidston handbag (I kid you not).

Scary movie or happy endings ?

Happy endings every time.

Favourite smells ?

I love the smell of suntan lotion as it reminds me of all the awesome holidays we have been on.

Sani Dunes Pool

What’s the furthest you have ever been away from home ?

Mexico for our honeymoon in 2001. I am so excited as we are going back to Cancun in the summer and taking the children. I can’t wait to see what has changed in the past 17 years.

Do you have any special talents ?

My kids would say nagging. Erm, I really can’t think of anything ‘special’ that I might do.

Where were you born ?

I am a Yorkshire girl as I was born in Wakefield, though I have lived in Cheshire since I was 8.

What are your hobbies ?

This question always reminds me of the ‘slight lies’ you have to tell on your CV. Blogging obviously, reading, swimming, oh and I love doing family and blog admin (yes I am strange).

What did you want to be when you grew up ?

From the age of 13 I always wanted to work in a bank. I left school at 16 and walked straight into my dream job, working for NatWest bank. I was there for 5 years as the job changed to more of a sales role which I hated.

How many countries have you been to ?

America, Mexico, Cuba, Greece, Spain, Austria. Pretty poor considering I class myself as a travel blogger.

What was your favourite/worst subject at school ?

I would have to say my favourite was Maths, due to the fact my best friend, and also a lad who I fancied was in my Maths class. Least favourite, PE.

What is your favourite drink ?

Gin and Tonic, Pina Colado when in Greece, a cold Coke with lots of ice on a sunny day, Gingerbread Latte in the run up to Christmas. Too many favourites.

Pina Colada

What would you (or have you) named your children ?

Morgan and Katie.

Who are some of your favourite YouTubers ?

I don’t watch YouTube unless I am being forced to watch Zoella and Alfie by the 12 year old.

How many boyfriends have you had ?

Errrr a few before I met my husband when I was 25. Move along now…..

Favourite memory from childhood ?

Going to my nan and granddad’s house (both who have sadly passed away now), and playing in their garden. They had the best garden full of flowers and vegetables. And when I was older, playing cards with my nan and drinking sherry.

How would you describe your fashion sense ?

I don’t even think my fashion sense would have a name. I tend to live in jeans and a top, and the odd summer dress when the sun makes an appearance.

Tell us one of your bad habits ?

I never seem to finish a drink. Sometimes I can have 3 unfinished drinks on the go.

So there you have it, some random facts about myself. If you are a blogger and have not yet joined in, feel free to answer the above questions, and tag me in so I can have a read.

  1. I used to work in a bank and other than the cost of childcare, the main reason I didn’t go back after having my second son was hatred for the sales targets and feeling like I was being forced to try and sell things to people that they didn’t really want or even need… I definitely don’t miss it.

It was lovely to find out a few new things about you here 🙂

    • I was exactly the same Stevie. Loved working there for the majority of the time. but as the years went on they just changed the whole concept of banking which I also hated x

  2. You made me laugh with some of your answers Tracey : ) Can’t believe that about the bank, that’s exactly the same reason my friend left The Halifax, they all must have lost good staff.

    • It was such a shame as I loved working in the bank, but hated it when they changed the whole concept of banking. It was just sell sell sell. Glad I made you laugh x
