Little Loves – Eggxit, Mother’s Day and Countdown to Greece

I can’t quite believe that the kids break up today, and it really does feel that this half term has been the quickest one yet. But with the holidays fast approaching it can only mean one thing….. We have 2 and a half sleeps till GREECE.

Yes I am counting Sunday night as half a sleep due to the lovely 2.30am alarm call. It will be worth it when I am sipping cocktails around the pool on Monday afternoon. So apart from running around like a headless chicken getting ready for our holiday, what else have we been up to.

Read

I have actually read 2 books over the past fortnight. They were a present from my son for Christmas, and I read the ‘Welcome to Rosie Hopkins’ Sweetshop of Dreams’ first. I did find the book quite slow at the beginning, but by the end I was hooked on the characters and immediately started the follow up book. It was a little strange reading a Christmas book when your bedroom is filled with summer dresses and suntan lotion.

Watched

We were invited into school last week to watch a video of Katie’s residential. It was lovely to see what she gets up to when she is away from us. There were certainly lots of smiles as she climbed rocks, canoed and built rafts. And it is clear to see that she has no fear in doing whatever activity is thrown at her. I think this has alot to do with being part of Beavers, Cubs and now Scouts from the age of 6.

Made

FANFARE PLEASE. I actually have something to add to this section, well the 11 year old has. The ‘Decorate an egg’ competition, designed to strike fear into non crafty parents. So I present to you….. Eggxit. Look at the poor United Kingdom egg, getting more and more cracked by the day……

Heard

Far too much coughing. I have been feeling under the weather for nearly a fortnight now, and quite frankly I am sick of hearing myself cough. I did manage a lovely day out in New Brighton for Mother’s Day, which was filled with sun, ice cream and a walk along the beach.

Wore

I can’t think of anything for this section, other than my bedroom is filled with new clothes for our holiday.

And Lastly

You may have seen this picture of Katie snorkelling with Scouts on my instagram. I can’t take any of the credit for the amazing picture of her under the water. She really does get to do some amazing things at Scouts.

    • They took some amazing photos of the snorkelling session. Thank you, the countdown is on now as less than 24 hours and we will hopefully be in Greece with a cocktail in hand x

    • I was secretly gutted she didn’t actually win. The school children’s council judged it and the humour probably went over their heads. Lots of the teachers kept saying to Katie how good it was. Oh well, always next year x

  2. Those eggxit eggs are brilliant – so clever! That’s a fantastic shot of Kate underwater. Wish my daughter would join our local group as she loved her old one. I’m rather jealous of that lovely pool view, sounds like you’re in for an amazing time in Greece. Have fun! x

    • Greece is a beautiful country Jenny. We have visited the mainland twice, and we also went to Corfu when one of our friends got married there 3 years ago x
