Little Loves – John Newman, White Collar and Travel Memories

Another 2 weeks seem to have gone in a flash, and it’s time for Little Loves again. A chance to look back at our last fortnight, and focus on the positive things that have happened.

Little Loves

Read

I am still reading Hens Reunited by Lucy Diamond.  I needed something a little less heavy after Eleanor Oliphant, and this is perfect. I will probably finish it this weekend, and I think I’ll make a start on the Matt Haig book that everybody is talking about. My Mum managed to pick it up in a charity shop for only a pound.

Watched

Katie had a sleepover at her friends last weekend, so the husband and teen watched Black Panther at the cinema (which meant I had a Friday night to myself, bliss). Our local Vue has dropped the price of tickets to only £4.99, which makes it a much more affordable night out.

With regards to good old box sets, we have started watching White Collar on Netflix. I think Jenny from Let’s Talk Mommy recommended it a while ago. It does remind me of Suits, so if you are a fan of the show you will probably like White Collar. Though of course nothing can match Suits with the gorgeous Harvey in it.

Heard

John Newman’s new single has been released today, so it seems only fitting that I include it, as I have been listening to it on repeat as I wrote this post. I have been lucky to have seen him twice in concert in Manchester.

Made

Not strictly ‘made’ by me, but I did choose the icons to go in my gorgeous print by My Icon Story. I love how it captures your travel memories and of course Walt Disney World was always going to feature, along with York, Bath and London. You can also win your very own print here.

Big coats in the big freeze. We were let off lightly with all the snow and disruption last week. We only had snow on Tuesday and it soon disappeared, though it always lingers on our front lawn. Thankfully there were no school closures.

And lastly

I am really looking forward to Mother’s Day. Husband has planned an evening meal out and invited my parents, and in the day we are going to Chester for a spot of shopping (and of course cake and coffee). Have you got any plans for Mother’s Day ?

  1. Love the icon story for home decor that’s awesome. Thanks for the mention yes I love White Collar and you get more into it with the seasons but nothing will match Harvey and Suits hahahaha Just ties us over until a new one comes along but good to watch. Hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend. #littleloves

    • Totally agree Jenny, and I think Suits is coming back at the end of March. Not long to wait for a fix of Harvey. Mother’s Day weekend was lovely thank you. Not the same when the kids are not running in at 7am with home made cards, but they did spoil me x

  2. Love that icon story picture, what a lovely idea! Our front garden is the same as yours, the snow lingered for far too long! Here’s hoping we don’t get any more this year and spring finally puts in an appearance! Hope you have a lovely day tomorrow x

    • Thank you, Mother’s Day was lovely and was nice to spend most of the day with both kids (rather than the teen being in his cave lol). The picture is gorgeous isn’t it, such a brilliant and unique way to showcase your travel memories x

    • Ha love that he wanted to set up a vacuum cleaner rather than going to the cinema. Hope it was worth it and Toby is getting over his jealousy towards it lol x

  4. I loved White Collar but I can’t get into Suits at all. Even though on paper it has all the things I like in a tv series I have to like the actors, and I can’t take to them on Suits.

    • How funny is that, but I know what you mean. You have to like the characters and Lorraine how can you not like the dish that is Harvey from Suits. I shall be having words next time we meet for a coffee lol x

    • Thank you Jess, thankfully all the snow has disappeared now. The print is gorgeous isn’t it, and I just need to decide on where to put it in the house x

  5. I hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day. I would definitely have liked to go out for a meal! I’m reading Eleanor Oliphant now and loving it. Cinema for £4.99 is an absolute bargain! We don’t get any change out of a tenner.

    • Thanks Sarah but I think a part of me wishes we hadn’t bothered. We got our mains a whopping 2 hours and 15 minutes after our table was booked. It is usually one our favourite pubs and the service was woefully slow. Didn’t spoil the day though x

    • We only have a small window of opportunity to watch our shows when the teen goes to bed around 10.30pm. Would love a whole weekend to just binge watch a box set x
