How can Simpson Travel inspire our next holiday ?

Travel

16 Feb

‘There are two gifts we should give our children. One is roots and the other is wings’

This quote has been at the forefront of my mind recently. Our eldest will be turning 16 in the summer, and I am well aware that we are on borrowed time when it comes to family holidays. It will soon be time for him to spread his wings, go off on his own adventures with his own friends. Every holiday has me treasuring the moments we are together as a family, even those times when he is bickering with his sister.

Simpson Travel

When Simpson Travel opened their travel ambassador programme, they wanted to know what inspired you about their holidays. The lovely Karen from Mini Travellers has been on a few Simpson Travel holidays, and they have always looked amazing. Karen has 3 young children, and the holidays seem to suit her family dynamics. But how would they suit our family ? How could Simpson Travel inspire us, a holiday that could well be our last as a family of four. Together, we came up with 13 reasons why a Simpson Holiday would suit a teen, a tween, and of course mum and dad.

S is for swimming pools. Whether staying in a hotel or villa, a pool would be top of the list for us as a family. Though the teen would argue that wifi would be top of his list.

Sani Dunes Pool

I for ice cream of course. No holiday would be complete without one (or several).

M is for a magic wand. Whilst I love planning our holidays, there is no denying that I can spend more time researching the holiday than being on it. Sometimes I would love to wave a magic wand. For somebody to know instantly what we need, and match us with our perfect holiday.

P is for being passionate about holidays, and is the main reason why I started my blog back in 2013. When a holiday company says it’s also passionate about holidays, it can only be a match made in heaven.

S is for sun, sea, sand.

Beach House at Sani Dunes

O is for dining outside. Is it just me, or does eating outside make the food so much tastier.

Eating out at Sani Marina

N is for the night time that descends after a day of exploring, activities, or simply relaxing around the pool. A chance to get dressed up, head to a local Taverna, or dine al fresco on your private patio.

T for time together. The children are at an age where they love being with their friends when at home, so having time together whilst on holiday is so important to us. A chance to reconnect as a family and enjoy quality time together, whether we are on the beach, playing games in the pool, or enjoying a leisurely lunch.

R is for rest and relaxation, a chance to escape from the routine of life.

A for activities. The children love doing different activities on holidays, pushing their boundaries and are never afraid to try something new.

Halkidiki Beach

V for the amazing choice of villas that Simpson Travel have on their website. We usually stay in hotels when we go abroad, but I love the flexibility that a villa would offer us as a family. Definitely something to consider for our next holiday.

E for eating out and a chance to try out new cuisine.

L is for luxury. There is no denying that we love to holiday in beautiful surroundings. And Simpson Travel takes that luxury up a level with their personalised service. And because they know their destinations inside out, this means for me less time researching and planning, and more time for holiday shopping.

This is my entry to be a Simpson Travel Ambassador. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity.

Ah Tracey I was nodding along to this post, we are so in the same place at the moment with our children. Time is slipping away but then we will be traveling with wife, husbands and grand children ha ha ! Because all we want is to keep them traveling with us. And I adore that saying it is beautiful and sums up parenthood. Best of luck my friend you would be amazing x

It has really struck a chord with me lately, and is so true about giving them the wings to fly without you. Yes I am pretty sure that they will go off on their own travels, but I bet they come back when they want to come on holidays with us again for ready made babysitters. I suppose it just goes to show that holidays are always evolving and changing. Thank you for saying that Sarah, it means alot x
