As you may have noticed from my blog we love going away. Around this time of year I find myself looking around the internet for some inspiration for a Winter beak away. We LOVE going away at this time of year, and 2 years ago we were lucky to spend the Christmas break at Centerparcs. Other years have seen us go away for a few days before the hectic Christmas period starts. Whilst others may hate the stress of going away at this hectic time of year, for me it encourages us to be all sorted for Christmas. I can go and enjoy a few days away knowing the presents are all wrapped and shipped off to Father Christmas !
But then I thought how about combining a few nights away with a Christmas shopping trip. We had been to London in the Summer and really enjoyed it. We had stayed just outside London in Slough, and I had said to my husband how nice it would be to stay right in the center of the bright lights of London. Cue my friend google and I came across the St Georges Hotel on Regent Street. The hotel is at the top of Regents street, and also a 2 minute walk away from the tube station at Oxford Circus. The hotel is also close to the West End, and having never seen a show in London before, I might just have to squeeze one in if we decide to go.
Thinking ahead into the New Year, January is also a nice time to go away. The main reason being its my birthday in January, and me and the hubby try and escape for a few days without the kids. One place we love going to is Scarborough. We have been on many family holidays to Scarborough and Filey. Whilst it may be cold in January, what better way to blow the cobwebs away than a romantic stroll along the beach. Searching on the internet we came across Ox Pasture Hall in Scarborough. This hotel looks stunning and has some great offers on their website.
We love Yorkshire and we have many memories of great holidays there. We usually head over to the coast or York, so we have also been looking at West Yorkshire. Wentbridge House Hotel in West Yorkshire is a luxury four star country house. This hotel looks the perfect place to relax after a busy Christmas, and they have some great packages on their website. I could see me and the hubby having a great time at this hotel.
So many lovely places to visit in the UK, I just wish I had the time and the money to visit them all. Do you have a favourite place you like to visit during the Winter ?
