The Summer Holidays… Remember them ?

Remember the summer holidays ? We have got 4 days of school runs under our belt, and I must admit the summer holidays now seem a distant memory. I was lucky enough to have most of the school holidays off, and I knew I wanted to keep the kids busy. We love our holidays as a family and I always start thinking about the summer holidays around Easter time. As we had been to Florida in May I knew our holidays had to be fairly cheap, but I also wanted a few breaks away. So we ended up with 12 nights away in total costing £516.00 (accommodation only). So what did we get up to……

First weekend was spent in our tent at a local campsite which was £38.00 for 2 nights on a non electric pitch.

Second weekend away we hired a touring caravan which was already sited, which included a fixed bed and a large awning. Total cost was £100.00 for 2 nights.

Then we had 4 nights in a Glamping Pod for £260.00. This worked out at £65.00 a night which I thought was a little expensive before we went. However the site was beautiful with free evening entertainment and a lovely swimming pool.

From the Glamping Pod we went to stay in a Premier Inn for 3 nights for £89.00. I always book well in advance with Premier Inns and always seem to get some great deals.

Our final night away was again in a Premier Inn for £29.00. Actually Mr W and I had a night away with NO kids. Well it was the end of the Summer Holidays and I deserved a night away. They deserved a night with their Nana !

So there you go. 12 nights away in the UK ranging from staying in a field to the comfy beds of the Premier Inn all for £516.00. I cannot wait to plan our adventures for Summer 2014 !
