If you follow me on social media you will know that we went to Bath just before Christmas. As soon as I realised the kids were breaking up on the 15th December, I knew it would be the ideal time to get away for a little festive break. A chance to escape the chaos of the Christmas build up, and reconnect as a family.A festive break to Bath

Bath was top of our list, having enjoyed our trip to the city back in February. We returned to Bath Mill Lodge retreat, which is the perfect place to come and unwind. The kids had had such a busy run up to Christmas with mock exams and rehearsals, they were longing to kick back and relax.… Continue reading

I think I am slowly emerging from the Christmas bubble and getting back to normal life. I am one of those strange people who love January, as we celebrate not one but two birthdays this month. But before the birthday celebrations we need to take our decorations down this weekend. Christmas has been brilliant this year, and even though the kids are 15 and nearly 12, the magic and excitement is there but just in a different way.

It was my mission to read two books over the Christmas period and I failed miserably. However I am very nearly at the end of this book, and it has been a brilliant read.… Continue reading

I love writing this post which gives me the chance to look back at our travels for the past year. In 2017 we managed 14 trips of 1 night or over. 2 of the trips have just been myself and the husband, 1 has been a girlie night away, 9 trips with the family, and the kids have enjoyed 2 school trips.

2017 - Looking back at our year of travel

February

Our first trip of 2017 was to the beautiful city of Bath. Staying in a luxurious 3 bedroom lodge at Bath Mill Lodge Retreat, it was the perfect base to explore the city. We enjoyed visiting the Roman Baths, wandering around the stunning Bath Cathedral, and enjoyed a bus tour around the city.… Continue reading

It’s that time again when I share 5 things I have bought for under £5, and I really had to think hard this month. I have either not been buying as much, or the things I have been buying have been more than a fiver. I suspect I know the answer though!  As always I am linking up with the wonderful Julia over at Rainbeaubelle.

5 things for under £5

I picked up this cute postcard and coaster when we visited Bath in half term. They were from a gorgeous shop called The Pug and Puffin, which had it’s own resident pug wandering around the shop.… Continue reading

When I look back at 2016 and our year of travel, I love how many adventures we managed to fit in. Some trips were taken just me and the husband (ah blissful lie ins and child free times). Some were with girlfriends, where there was lots of chatter and far too much gin. But the majority were me, the husband and the kids. With Morgan turning 15 this year, I am under no illusion we are on borrowed time with family holidays. And whilst on one hand that makes me sad, it also makes me determined to pack as much travel and adventure in as we can.… Continue reading
