It’s been 2 weeks since I joined in with the ‘Little Loves’ linky, and to be honest I nearly didn’t write this post. In a week that has been filled with such awful sadness, I found it hard to look for the little things that have made me smile. But when such tragic events happen, it’s even more important to look for the good that is happening around us.
I seem to have read alot of menus the past fortnight. From the amazing menu at The Alchemist which is literally full of delightful cocktails. To being faced with 3 menus at Gusto in Knutsford the other evening.… Continue reading
Treating the family to a special meal is always a great opportunity to get together, eat delicious food and catch up on everyone’s news. It seems there’s quite a few families nowadays who don’t sit down together at the end of every day. Instead eating separately, and missing out on all-important family time.
As the price of living and eating out has gradually increased, are families going to restaurants as much as they used to? Has the growing number of home delivery food companies encouraged families to stay at home. Choosing to dine in the comfort of their own home? Are parents still happy to pay for the additional costs that come with restaurant dining, like travel and restaurant tipping?… Continue reading
This past fortnight has been a funny old mixture. Ranging from the normal everyday activities such as work, school and clubs. To the pure excitement of school trips, pancakes and secondary school decisions.
At 12.10am on Wednesday morning I read two words ‘Place Offered’. Yes the 1st March was High School decision day. And even though I was 99.9% sure that Katie would be allocated a place at her brother’s school, it was still nice to get the confirmation. I was a mixture of nerves and excitement logging onto the website, not helped by the fact I had to reset my password at midnight.… Continue reading
I always feel a little bit sad at this time of year, saying goodbye to the summer holidays. It was my 10th summer holidays since the kids started school, and they are definitely getting easier. The 14 year old is pretty much self sufficient now. Yes he has probably spent far too much time on his PlayStation, but at times he has left his cave to play football with his friends. Katie is happiest when she is outside playing, and at times I have felt a little bit redundant. Part of me feels sad that they don’t need me as much, but kids grow up and I know this is the next stage of parenting.… Continue reading
So tonight we have been out to Nando’s with the kids. The kids have never been to Nando’s and me and hubby have been only twice before many years ago. We chose Nando’s as, thanks to my mum, I received a gift card for my birthday. I rang to book a table, and I was advised they were not taking bookings. However, if I turned up around 5pm there should be no more than a 10 minute wait. We arrived just before 5pm and were seated straight away.
Now I am going to go out on a limb here as I know LOTS of people adore Nando’s, but I just don’t get the whole infatuation with it.… Continue reading
So the question is….. Is there such thing as a free lunch ? Of course there is providing you go and gate crash your Mum’s Sunday lunches, turn up at your friend’s house demanding they cook you tea, or having a free toddler lunch at work (I work in a Nursery) ! But how about a free lunch in a fairly posh restaurant.
Well one day whilst I was on the Martin Lewis website, I came across the Club Individual Loyalty card. They were offering an incentive of £20.00 added to the card when you signed up. I quickly filled in the form, and waited a few weeks for my shiny card to arrive.… Continue reading
