A few weeks ago I was browsing through Facebook and something caught my eye….. The Virgin Train Sale. In less than 20 minutes I had booked and paid for our next adventure, all whilst my husband had been at the gym. He often jokes that he should never leave me alone with the laptop and the credit card, and that evening was no exception. But how could he complain when we had a trip to Edinburgh to look forward to.

Another 2 weeks has passed by since I joined in with Little Loves. The kids have been back to school this week, so it has been a fairly mundane week of school runs and work. It was however Halloween on Monday, and Katie dressed up as Harley Quinn again to go Trick or Treating. I must admit she makes a pretty awesome Harley Quinn.

I clearly remember last October half term. It seemed that everybody was away on holiday. Either basking in the sun, enjoying the theme parks in Florida or taking a break closer to home. I vowed then that we would go away the following October. And as the husband’s birthday coincided with the start of the holidays, it seemed the perfect time to go.

You may remember a few weeks ago, I blogged about booking our £69.00 bargain break to Scotland in a caravan. Well we returned from our break on Friday and I thought I would blog about our trip.

Our break was to Auchenlarie Holiday Park which is in Dumfries and Galloway in Scotland. We had previously visited the park 5 years ago, and had a great time. Again this trip up to Scotland did not disappoint. I knew we had booked a standard caravan, which had 2 bedrooms and a fire in the living room. We took our trusty electric fire too for the bedrooms, as everyone knows Scotland can get quite chilly.… Continue reading
