The country might be all getting excited about the forthcoming wedding of Meghan and Harry, but rewind 17 years and I was getting ready to marry my very own ginger prince.
I know it’s a huge cliché, but the past 17 years have gone in the blink of an eye. I still remember our wedding day like it was yesterday, getting married in the hotel where Hywel had proposed to me 14 months before. We were surrounded by friends and family (and John McCardle who used to be in Brookside) , on one of the hottest days of the year. And just like Meghan and Harry, we also got married on FA Cup final day.… Continue reading
I am so glad it’s Friday as it means the year 6 SATS are over. Katie has been doing tests for the past 4 days, but today it’s own clothes and toy day. She has handled this week brilliantly, keeping herself calm and doing her absolute best. I gave her this card on Sunday night, as it pretty much summed up our feelings towards the tests.
I am so proud of her, and tonight we are going to the Trafford Centre to treat her and go for a meal. Plus it’s a double celebration as it’s our 16th wedding anniversary today.… Continue reading
For our wedding anniversary last year, I decided to get my husband a love lock. For those of you who have never heard of a love lock, it’s a padlock which you can then lock to a fence, bridge or gate to symbolize your love. As we were celebrating 15 years of marriage, our love lock was inscribed with ’15 Years Married’ and on the other side ‘Tracey and Hywel, 12th May 2001’ which is the date we got married.
I am pretty sure my husband did the usual male response of thinking ‘why the hell has she got me a padlock’, and the lock has sat gathering dust in his wardrobe for nearly a year.… Continue reading
Oh May, you are definitely my favourite month of the year. A month which will see us banish our coats until Autumn (hopefully), and wave goodbye to our winter boots. A month that graces us with not one, but TWO bank holidays. And hopefully the month where the sun decides to shine that little bit more.
May is a month of celebration for us. On the 15th of May, it is 18 years since I met my husband (18 YEARS), and on the 12th May we will celebrate 16 years of marriage. We don’t have any firm plans yet, but I am hoping for a little weekend getaway.… Continue reading
This week we have celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary. I know it’s a cliché, but the time really has flown by. I remember our wedding day like it was yesterday, surrounded by our family and friends. It’s funny to think we got married when social media was not around, and any photographs taken had to be developed at Max Spielman. Here we are looking a lot less knackered due to having no kids.
I finished ‘A Baby at the Beach Café’ by Lucy Diamond, which was a nice and easy read. I have just started ‘A Patchwork Marriage’ which I picked up in a charity shop for £1.49.… Continue reading

Tomorrow is mine and the husbands 14th wedding anniversary. 14 years that have gone in the blink of an eye. Time has gone so quick, and in those 14 years we have laughed, cried, shouted and supported each other through the good times and the bad. We both met in our twenties and we are now in our forties. We have grown together over the years, but we also make time for the close friendships we have. We met on the 15th May 1999 amid a haze of Jack Daniels, and the rest is history as you can see below.… Continue reading
