What a busy but thoroughly enjoyable fortnight it has been. We have all finished work and school and we are ready for the Christmas holidays. The past fortnight has been filled with Christmas get togethers with my mum, afternoon tea with 2 of my bestest friends, Christmas dinner day in work where I get to sit on a toddler chair surrounded by 40 kids, Winter Wonderland in Manchester, School Christmas Fairs and lots more fun.

Hurrah for the last day of term. As always with this time of year it has been filled with parties, film days, end of term tests, carol concerts and more. The kids (and I) are knackered and we are looking forward to a full week of chilling out before the big day arrives. In amongst the craziness of the week, I did manage Festive Afternoon Tea out with my best friend. It was the perfect opportunity to catch up, chill out, and of course eat lots of yummy cakes. So what else have we been up to this past fortnight.

Last night we were invited to the Press Evening of Winter Wonderland in Manchester. As it was our 4th visit I have shared with you our 10 top tips for visiting Winter Wonderland this year. You can also read my review of last years event here.

If you have older kids make your way towards the back of Winter Wonderland. Here you will find the bigger rides for older children (and 45 year old husbands).

The summer holidays are fast becoming a distant memory, and now that we are in Autumn it means it is perfectly acceptable to start mentioning Christmas. I *may* have even started to buy a few presents. But Christmas is not just about giving and receiving  presents, stuffing ourselves full of chocolate and drinking sherry. It’s a chance to get together with family and friends, and enjoy the many Christmas attractions that happen each year.

Last night we headed to Manchester for the press night of Winter Wonderland, which is a fantastic indoor festive theme park. Located at EventCity opposite the Trafford Centre, you will find plenty of free parking. Winter Wonderland is now in its 3rd year, and we have visited every year since it opened in 2013. As well as plenty of indoor fairground rides there is The Sooty Show, Magic Show, Circus, Father Christmas with real reindeers and a stage where we saw Ariel.

Winter Wonderland is back for its second year at Event City in Manchester. We went last year and loved it, and I was delighted to be given the chance to review it again this year. Winter Wonderland is based indoors, right next to the Trafford Centre in Manchester. It’s open from 13th December to the 4th January, so plenty of time still to visit. Tickets can be booked online, and the price for a family ticket is £60.00.  This will give you 4 hours inside Winter Wonderland, and they typically run 2 sessions most days. All the sessions available can be viewed on their website.… Continue reading

CP Xmas 2 years ago we were lucky enough to spend the Christmas break at Centerparcs. We had been 4 times around the Christmas period for their Winter Wonderland, but never for Christmas Day itself. We only booked the break at the beginning of December, and after deliberating about it for weeks, a stressful day at work for my hubby gave me the YES love you can book it.

The next few weeks were a blur of excitement and mild panic. Panic from my daughter as to how Father Christmas would find us. As we were booked to see Father Christmas on Christmas Eve, I suggested we let him know our lodge number.… Continue reading
