If you have ever visited LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester, there is a good chance you would have watched a short film in the fantastic 4D cinema. THE LEGO MOVIE 4D A NEW ADVENTURE, is the brand new movie which will be shown in the 4D cinema, and we were very excited to be invited along to watch a preview.

The 12 minute film still features the favourite characters of Emmet, Wyldstyle, MetalBeard, Unikitty and Benny, but there is also a brand new villain called Risky Business.  The short film took around 16 months to shoot, with a team of nearly 200 people involved.  … Continue reading

On Saturday evening we visited TGI Fridays to try out their brand new menu which was launched on the 8th March. We have dined at the Cheshire Oaks restaurant before, but we decided to visit the TGI Fridays which is located at the Trafford Centre. It is worth noting that you are unable to book a table on a Saturday, so if you visit at peak times you may have to wait. However there is a large bar area where you can enjoy a drink whilst taking in the TGI Fridays atmosphere.

We were taken to a booth seat (is it just me who LOVES a booth seat) towards the back of the restaurant.… Continue reading

Yesterday I was invited to try out the new Super Lunch menu from Jamie’s Italian. This was my first visit and I was looking forward to a leisurely lunch with my mum and step dad. They are both huge fans of Jamie Oliver, and they have visited the Manchester restaurant a handful of times.  We decided to visit the Liverpool branch which has a central location and is easy to find.

We were booked in at 12pm and we arrived just as the doors were being opened. We had a booth seat which was comfortable and spacious, and had the added bonus of being near to the window. … Continue reading

Light Box

I recently wrote about how our playroom was finally getting a makeover, after it had been on the ‘DIY to do list’ for a few years. I was desperate to transform our playroom in to a haven filled with Ikea Kallax storage.

We have lived in our house for over 15 years, and when we moved in the garage had already been converted into a room.  The room is next to the kitchen, and was the perfect place for the fridge to live. Yes we used to have a WHOLE ROOM for a fridge. But then the fridge was regulated to its rightful place in the kitchen, and the room became a playroom when the kids arrived.… Continue reading

5 under £5

I had all good intentions of joining in with this fantastic linky from the lovely Julia at Rainbeaubelle last month, but time seemed to just run away. The idea behind it is you choose 5 things that you have purchased for £5 and under. Obviously not boring stuff like washing liquid and tins of beans, but lovely things that have made you smile. So here are my five items under £5.

5 things under £5

I love the framed print that I got from Ellie Bean Prints for just £5 in the sale. I have put it on our new picture shelf in the playroom, and yes it applies to daughter with the ‘no whining’.… Continue reading

This is my husband wrapped up in what I like to call a large piece of tin foil.  It was just after he had finished his second competitive 10k last week, at Oulton Park in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. He came a very impressive 34th out of 400 runners with a time of 43 minutes and 32 seconds. Well done love.

Ikos Olivia

Do you ever read a blog or review, and wish you were at the place the person is writing about ? That is how I felt when I read Katie’s post from Mummy Daddy Me, all about her wonderful trip to the Ikos Resort in Greece. Katie and a group of other wonderful bloggers had stayed at the Ikos Oceania hotel. They also got the chance to visit the brand new Ikos Olivia hotel, which at the time was not open to the public. It opened in May 2015, and since its opening I have been dreaming of visiting this stunning new hotel.… Continue reading

We were recently sent 2 boxes of crafts from Baker Ross, a delivery which always has my creative 10 year old very excited. The first box was filled with crafts from their Spring range. As we are starting to see glimpses of Spring this week (hello sunshine and flowers in the garden), the 10 year old was eager to make a start on the Spring crafts.

We started with the butterfly wands which were really easy to put together. I love the simple instructions that come with all of the Baker Ross crafts. Even a creative novice like me can follow them.… Continue reading

It has been one of those weeks where I have felt a little out of sorts (hello hormones), was unbearably tired and more snappy with the kids. I really should take the advice from my new print below. I am sure normal service will resume soon. It has been a fairly ordinary week getting back to the school run and ferrying kids to clubs. We did have a lovely night out on Saturday night with friends and ended up going for a curry at midnight. It has to be done right…. Here are my Little Loves for this week.

Have read far too much of the booklet that comes with the pack for renewing passports.… Continue reading

We are very excited that we will be attending our very first family festival at the end of May.  Geronimo Festival is back for a second year at Tatton Park in Cheshire, and also has a new venue at Harewood House near Leeds. Tatton Park is less than 30 minutes from where we live, so we will be heading there on Sunday 29th May 2016. Geronimo is also at Tatton Park on the 30th May, and at Harewood House on the 1st and 2nd May 2016.

Geronimo Festival

Geronimo has created a festival that will cater for the whole family. Having a 10 year old and 13 year old, I really struggle for days out that will entertain them both.… Continue reading
