As part of my ambassador role for The Crocky Trail in Chester, I was invited to their Halloween event, The Crocky Horror Show. Anything with the word ‘Horror’ in it would usually have me running for the hills. But having a teen and 9 year old, they were excited to be heading somewhere that could potentially scare their mum. We decided to visit on the Wednesday evening. The Crocky Horror Show is on from the 20th October and ends on the 31st October. If you visit on the 30th or 31st, you get the added bonus of a firework display.… Continue reading
What better way to start the October half term holidays than a trip to The Blackpool Tower Dungeon. My husband and son have visited the attraction before, but it was mine and daughters first time. I am usually the one who stands outside the scary attractions, but this time there was no getting out of it. The Dungeons are located underneath the famous Tower, and the main entrance is at the rear of the landmark. We got there around 10.40am as we were booked in at 11am, and there was a small queue at this time.
We first did … Continue reading
When I was offered 2 tickets to Play Expo a few weeks ago, I knew this was an event for the husband and the teen. Play Expo is a huge gaming exhibition which was held over 2 days at Event City in Manchester. It gives you the chance to try some of the latest games, meet famous gamers that are on YouTube, and even chat with developers of the games. Whilst the boys were enjoying the day at Play Expo, I was busy girlie shopping at The Trafford Centre. So I shall pass you over to my husband to continue … Continue reading
Back to school in September means buying lots of ‘new’ things. New skirts, trousers, shirts, shoes and coats. So when I was offered the chance to review a rain jacket from Dry Kids, I was really pleased. I browsed the website with my 9 year old, and she chose a Raspberry Pink Waterproof Jacket priced at £9.95. It arrived a few days later and Katie was keen to wear it to school the next day.
What I liked about the jacket
Can be folded away and packed in a school bag when not needed
Has reflective tape on the … Continue reading
Ever since we redecorated our dining room last year, I have been searching for the right print to fill one of the empty walls. I love anything that is personalised to us as a family, and when Ellie Bean Prints got in touch I knew there would be a print for us.
Ellie Bean Prints are a family company based up in Yorkshire, and were launched back in 2011. They have a wide range of prints to choose from, which can be personalised for that unique gift. You can even email them an idea if they don’t stock a print … Continue reading
Last weekend we were invited to the ‘soft opening’ of the new Wagamama restaurant at the Trafford Centre. It fitted in well with our plans as the boys were heading to Play Expo at Event City. Daughter and I had a lovely few hours shopping, and we all met up again at 3pm. Wagamama is located on the upper floor of The Orient, where you will find a vast array of eating places.
Husband and I had visited Wagamama a few times at Cheshire Oaks, but it was the first visit with the kids. I had pre warned the teen … Continue reading
Last month I wrote about the new decking my wonderful stepdad had fitted in our garden. Our decking was looking bare, as I just couldn’t decide what to put on it. So when gardens2you got in contact and offered to send me some garden ornaments, I jumped at the chance.
www.gardens2you.co.uk offer a vast choice of garden ornaments. Here you will find everything from lighting, to wall art for your garden. I was sent a garden gnome and a gorgeous mosaic lizard. The items came by courier, and I was impressed that I was given a 1 hour slot for … Continue reading
If you ask my 9 year old who her favourite author is, the answer would be Roald Dahl. She asked for his collection of books last Christmas, and is currently reading her way through them. When I told her that McDonald’s would be featuring the Roald Dahl books in their Happy Meals, she was over the moon.
Both of my children have always enjoyed reading, and we started to read to them from when they were tiny babies. My husband took on the role of ‘chief … Continue reading
I can’t believe I am only just sitting down to write this post on the 9th October. Since the kids went back to school, life just seems to be so busy. Which I know is a good thing, as that means its not long till Christmas. Are we allowed to mention the C word in October ? Anyway, here are my 10 awesome moments during September.
1) I went on a girls weekend away. I think we were all on Summer Holiday burn out, and we took full advantage of the hot tub on the decking. We chatted into the … Continue reading
