If you ask my 9 year old who her favourite author is, the answer would be Roald Dahl. She asked for his collection of books last Christmas, and is currently reading her way through them. When I told her that McDonald’s would be featuring the Roald Dahl books in their Happy Meals, she was over the moon.
2 of the books which will be making an appearance in the Happy Meals
Both of my children have always enjoyed reading, and we started to read to them from when they were tiny babies. My husband took on the role of ‘chief … Continue reading
I can’t believe I am only just sitting down to write this post on the 9th October. Since the kids went back to school, life just seems to be so busy. Which I know is a good thing, as that means its not long till Christmas. Are we allowed to mention the C word in October ? Anyway, here are my 10 awesome moments during September.
1) I went on a girls weekend away. I think we were all on Summer Holiday burn out, and we took full advantage of the hot tub on the decking. We chatted into the … Continue reading
The month of October can mean only one thing….. Halloween is just around the corner. Every year we take the children to a Halloween event, and this year we are super excited about going to The Crocky Horror Show.
The Crocky Horror Show can be found at the Crocky Trail, which is a fantastic outdoor adventure park located in Chester. You can read our review here about our visit in May.
The Crocky Horror Show will include
The actual trail will be full of live actors and terrifying sets and props. You will also get the chance to see stunt … Continue reading
This photo is from our last trip to Disneyworld back in 2013.
I love it as you get a glimpse of the famous castle in the background.
There is also a lack of people in the picture.
A small tip, if you want to get those elusive pictures infront of the castle, with nobody else in them, book a breakfast reservation at The Magic Kingdom before the park opens to the public.

This pretty sums up the last 2 weeks for me. The good, the bad and the downright bloody expensive. The past fortnight has been stressful, with a catalogue of things going wrong. But in between the stress there has been some really great times.
First bad thing was the broken heating. Why does the heating break the minute you turn it back on after its summer break ? Thankfully it was fixed quickly by my close friends husband. Cost of £9 for a part on EBay, and the price of a meal to say thank you. So not actually as … Continue reading
I have recently returned from a girls weekend to The Hollies which is in the heart of Cheshire. The Hollies is a small collection of deluxe lodges, which all have their own private hot tub. I have had my eye on a lodge stay here since they were first built, and finally I got to experience the luxurious lodges. The emphasis here is definitely relaxation in decadent surroundings. I have stayed in a fair few lodges over the years, and this is definitely up there with the best.
We decided to book The Grand Fir which promised us ‘a sense … Continue reading
Last night I got to wear my wedding dress again.
14 years after the first time I wore it on the 12th May 2001.
I went to a Winter Wedding Ball which was held to raise money for Cancer Research and our local hospice.
What a fantastic and surreal night being in a room full of stunning looking brides.

You know when you have a really good night out and you are still giggling about it days later. Well that’s me at the moment. The reason for this is Chris Ramsey. Chris Ramsey is a fantastic stand up comedian, and he has just started his new tour this week. The opening night was in our home town, and the second the tickets went on sale I was there, bagging 2 seats on the front row. I know…… the dreaded front row. We had sat at the front before, so I was willing to take a chance again.
His show … Continue reading
I have been a mum of a teenager for 5 weeks now. The transition from tween to teen has happened, and I am still standing. I know its such a cliché, but the last 13 years really have gone in a blink of an eye. Whilst the baby years, toddler years and the primary school years are really important, the teenage years will really shape the man he will become. A MAN. How hard is it to think about your children becoming adults. Letting them loose into the world, thinking and doing things on their own 2 feet.
On Sunday I returned from a fantastic girls weekend away in the heart of Cheshire.
Here is a little sneak peak of the luxurious lodge we stayed in.
