10 Tips for visiting The Crocky Trail in Chester

As my ambassador role for The Crocky Trail in Chester comes to an end, I thought I would share our top tips for visiting. You can read my posts of our previous visit here.

Seems obvious but wear old clothes and trainers or wellies. They WILL get filthy, and on our last visit these shoes ended up in the bin.

Take a change of clothes which includes spare knickers and socks, a towel and also a bin bag for putting the muddy clothes in. There are changing rooms at the Crocky Trail for you to use.

Whilst you can buy snacks from the Crocky Trail such as sausage rolls, chocolate and crisps, you are welcome to bring a picnic. You will find plenty of benches around the play area and even on the trail itself. Some of the tables are undercover if you need shelter from the rain.

You are welcome to bring dogs providing they are kept on a lead. Last weekend we saw lots of well behaved dogs enjoying the walk around the Crocky Trail.

The car park is large, free and right next to the park. One of my bug bears is having to pay to park your car when you visit an attraction. Your car will only be a short walk away, perfect if you need to grab the picnic basket or a change of clothes.

We have visited the Crocky Trail in the height of summer, the end of October and March proving that you can visit in all seasons. As long as you wear appropriate clothing you will be fine. The only time they will close the park is during heavy snow and stormy weather.

The Crocky Trail is perfect for any age and under 5s will be free. I have posted before that it is getting harder for my 10 and 13 year old to agree on a day out. But the Crocky Trail has ticked all the boxes for us as a family, and we are certainly going to miss our regular visits to the trail.

The Crocky Trail is split into 2 areas. The front part is where you will find the slides and challenging activities such as The Titanic. The second area is the trail itself which is approximately a mile long. Most people visit the front part first, so you may wish to go on the trail if you visit during peak times.

You can book online should you wish or just pay on the day. Please see the website for the current prices and opening times.

And my last tip is go and have lots of FUN.

The Crocky Trail is the perfect place to go if you are visiting the North West. It is a place where kids can be kids, get muddy, take risks and above all have fun. We have loved our time being an ambassador for the Crocky Trail, and we have certainly had heaps of fun and laughter as a family. Thank you Crocky Trail.
