Why I would love to visit Marbella one day

Marbella… The resort that oozes luxury, million pound yachts, and no doubt has its fair share of beautiful people holidaying there. But Marbella isn’t just a playground for the rich and famous. I know a few people who have holidayed there this year, and it is definitely on my list of places to visit ‘once the kids leave home’. So why is Marbella on my ever growing list of places to visit.

Why I would love to visit Marbella one day

The beaches

Marbella has a very impressive 27km of beaches, with the sea completely safe for swimming in. Many of the beaches have pretty and welcoming beach bars, perfect for that early afternoon cocktail.

The promenade

I know it might seem really cheesy, but I have this image of my husband and I walking along a promenade, hand in hand, watching the sun set. That image is not the same when you have kids dragging along behind you shouting they are bored, so maybe one day we will get to walk along Marbella’s promenade together. The Paseo Maritimo is the promenade that stretches from Marbella to Puerto Banus, and this is where you can take in the sunsets, beach views, and of course the many restaurants and bars along the way.

Eating out

Eating out has always been a huge part of our holiday, and Marbella is full of streets and streets of amazing food. I can just picture myself sitting on a pavement restaurant, enjoying the traditional Spanish Tapas, and of course a gin and tonic or two.

Short flight

With the flight time being less than 3 hours, Marbella is the perfect destination to visit for a long weekend. Every year my husband and I say we would love to visit a European resort or city, but we never get round to it. One day it will happen…. One day.

The culture

We always try and fit in some culture when we go away, and no doubt this will be easier when we start going away without the kids. Marbella has its fair share of museums, theatres and art galleries, plenty to keep us occupied on a short trip.

Many people visit regions in Spain and immediately fall in love with a resort or city, even taking it a step further and taking the decision to move there. My Dad and Step Mum are prime examples of this as they fell in love with Majorca many years ago, and have lived on the island ever since. If you visit Marbella and fall in love with the resort, there are plenty of new development villas Marbella. Properties from townhouses, apartments, and of course luxury properties Marbella, can be found across the famous resort.
