Does anyone else feel that Mother’s Day seems to creep up on us each year. Especially now as we seem to have regressed back to Winter with all this snow. I associate Mother’s Day with warmer days, not being wrapped up in 4 layers as you battle with the snow. But thankfully with Buyagift you don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home.
This Mother’s Day, Buyagift is supporting Breast Cancer Care for their wonderful Mum of a Kind campaign. When purchasing their Superwoman Smartbox, Afternoon Tea with Bubbles, or the Indulgent Pamper Treat Smartbox, 25% of the sale price will go towards helping families that are affected by breast cancer.… Continue reading
Ever since I came across My Icon Story on instagram a few months ago, I fell in love with the concept of creating beautiful icons to capture your travel memories. Long gone are the days when holiday prints are put in a photo album to gather dust. Your travel memories can now be transformed into beautiful pieces of icon art.
Laura Robinson is the brains behind My Icon Story, a brand she created in 2016 after enjoying her own travel adventures. In less than two years it’s hard to believe that Laura has designed over 300 icons, with more being added almost daily due to customer demand.… Continue reading
How has it been 3 weeks since I last wrote a Little Loves post. Every single time I tell myself that I am going to be more organised, and then life just gets in the way. Please tell me I am not the only one. And how an earth is it March next week. February seems to have gone in a flash.
I have an Eleanor Oliphant shaped hole in my life, after I finished the last week. It’s hard to believe that this is Gail Honeyman’s debut novel, a book that she wrote whilst working full time. Eleanor is a complex, misunderstood, but likeable character by the end of the book.… Continue reading
It’s 5 months since Katie started using the Oy! range from Green People, and I thought I would give a little update as to how her skin is doing.
Green People’s teen and tween range is called Oy! (Organic Young), and as you would expect from the name the products are all organic. Their range works in harmony with younger skin, and contains no harsh chemicals. As a mum it was important to me that Katie would be starting her skincare routine with natural products. Since September, Katie has been using the following products that we were kindly sent by Green People.… Continue reading
Last week my husband and I were invited to Bistrot Pierre to try out their ‘Soiree Gastronomique’ evening. We would be dining on a six course menu, which in itself is exciting. But since our last visit in October, their restaurant in Stockton Heath has had an exciting makeover, and we couldn’t wait to experience the newly refurbished Bistrot Pierre.
On entering, I was pleased to see that the layout of the restaurant is very similar to how it was, and it still retains it’s welcoming feel. We both loved the fresh new look, the rustic wooden tables, the new colour scheme and the adornment of pictures and mirrors on the wall.… Continue reading
‘There are two gifts we should give our children. One is roots and the other is wings’
This quote has been at the forefront of my mind recently. Our eldest will be turning 16 in the summer, and I am well aware that we are on borrowed time when it comes to family holidays. It will soon be time for him to spread his wings, go off on his own adventures with his own friends. Every holiday has me treasuring the moments we are together as a family, even those times when he is bickering with his sister.
When Simpson Travel opened their travel ambassador programme, they wanted to know what inspired you about their holidays. … Continue reading
Our travel plans for this year are slightly different. Having managed 14 trips away during 2017, we will be travelling far less this year due to one thing…. GCSEs. Holidays are on hold for the first 6 months of the year, but I have made up for our lack of travel with our summer holiday trip. This is how 2018 is shaping up so far.
The husband and I managed to escape for a night to celebrate my birthday. We booked one of our favourite Premier Inns at The Trafford Centre for the bargain price of £29. We ate, shopped, drank gin, but sadly we were tucked up in bed before 10pm as hubby was suffering with the flu.… Continue reading
I know most people were cheering to see the end of January, but I must admit it’s one of my favourite months. I know I’m in the minority, and we all know that January will never be able to compete against it’s glitzy neighbour, December. But I love it, and here are some of the reasons why.
We celebrate not one, but two birthdays in our house in January. I celebrated mine on ‘Blue Monday’ which is meant to be the most depressing day of the year. Well not when you are celebrating your birthday with a trip to the Trafford Centre, followed by a family meal out.… Continue reading
Apologies for the lateness of this post as I got struck down with a migraine on Friday. All my plans went out of the window, and I ended up sleeping for most of the morning. Anyway let’s focus on the positives, which is what Little Loves is all about.
It took me less than a fortnight to read The Couple Next Door (which is pretty good going for me), and what a gripping read. To be honest I didn’t have a clue what the book was about prior to starting it, and I would never have guessed the storyline. Definitely a good read, and I now have my next two books lined up.… Continue reading
With little glimpses of spring on the horizon it can only mean one thing…. DIY jobs around the home and garden. We have been in our house for 18 years this year, and each spring we make a list of the jobs that need doing. I have my eye on decorating our bedroom, though the husband doesn’t know this yet.
With many people choosing to stay in their homes for longer with the increasing cost of moving and mortgages predicted to rise again, it’s always worthwhile adding value to your home. Balustrade Components have compiled a great infographic on how we can increase the value in our home.… Continue reading
