Farewell, Summer! We’ve had an amazing Summer and the weather has been very kind to us. But with the seasons seemingly changing overnight, I am ready to dig out my tights and boots, long coats and umbrellas, and bracing ourselves for whatever Autumn has to throw at us. We can get our wardrobes ready, but what about our homes?
Getting the house ready for the colder months of the year might seem like a mammoth task, but did you know that you can have fun with it to? Below are some ideas to get your house ready for the next … Continue reading
I am a creature of habit, and when it comes to fashion I tend to stick to what I know, and what I feel comfortable in. My staple Autumn outfit will usually be a pair of jeans, comfy jumper, and my trusty boots from Hotter. But after returning from Mexico just under a week ago, I am not quite ready to start living in jeans again. Plus have you ever tried to put your trusty jeans back on, after a week of indulgent eating and drinking in an all-inclusive hotel.
So this Autumn I am going to throw caution to … Continue reading
Do you ever have certain hotels or holiday destinations you just have to visit ? Well the Moon Palace in Cancun is one of those resorts, and I have waited 17 years to get there. We went on our honeymoon to Mexico back in 2001, and I still have a slight regret we didn’t book the Moon Palace. Don’t get me wrong, we had an amazing honeymoon, but in the back of my mind I knew I had to visit The Grand Moon Palace one day.

Num Noms and Shopkins – What are they ?
Num Noms are a brand new product which launch in the UK this week. My 10 year old was VERY excited to be sent this brightly coloured packet of Num Noms to play with. So what exactly are they ?
First you will need a Num which will be in the form of a cupcake or ice cream. We had a packet which contained cupcakes.
Next you need to add a Nom which will either be motorised or a lip gloss. We had a deep pink motorised Nom.
Then add a … Continue reading
The back to school adverts are in full swing, and social media is awash with stressed out parents embarking on the dreaded school shoe shopping. Thankfully I have had to be mega organised this year, as we go away right at the end of the summer holidays.
If you still have a to do list as long as your arm, and wondering why they need SO MANY things to return to school, Smiggle has the answer with a Back to School Giveaway.

After our successful 36 hours in Edinburgh last summer, we decided that Glasgow would be our new city to visit for 2018. The easiest and most stress-free way to get to Glasgow from the North West would be by train, and once again I was quick off the mark when Virgin trains announced their sale.
After travelling back first class from Edinburgh last year, I decided we would travel in style again. I managed to book first class seats for the four of us, and it really does make a difference to our journey. Complementary food, more room in first … Continue reading

Things to do in Edinburgh
A few weeks ago I was browsing through Facebook and something caught my eye….. The Virgin Train Sale. In less than 20 minutes I had booked and paid for our next adventure, all whilst my husband had been at the gym. He often jokes that he should never leave me alone with the laptop and the credit card, and that evening was no exception. But how could he complain when we had a trip to Edinburgh to look forward to.
Edinburgh had been on my travel list for ages, and last Friday we had a … Continue reading
Two weeks into the school holidays and so far so good. Though I must admit as the kids are getting older they make their own entertainment, and I am a glorified taxi driver and bank clerk. But I can’t complain as I am currently sat in Starbucks, with an overpriced drink and my laptop.
Looking back, July was a pretty good month. The teen finished his NCS experience, Katie broke up for the summer, we said goodbye to year 7 and year 11, there was a romantic night away with the husband, I went on a Spa night away … Continue reading
