If there was ever a holiday I was counting down to, it was our very much needed break to the Sani Resort in Greece. Having been suffering with my health for the past 4 months, we were all very much in need of some rest and relaxation in the sunshine, and Greece did not disappoint with the amazing temperatures we were blessed with.
It had been over 2 years since we had been at the Sani Resort, as I was extremely lucky to have been invited to the soft opening of their Dunes hotel back in 2017. Sani Resort … Continue reading
You may wonder why we keep on returning to the same hotel. The World is vast, with an abundance of beautiful locations, stunning hotels, and cities to explore. And whilst we love to to visit new places, the pull of Ikos Olivia is too hard to ignore. We first visited this luxury 5* hotel back in 2016, and after going to Mexico last year, I was ready to return to my little slice of heaven.
Where is Ikos Olivia and how do you get there
Ikos Olivia is in the beautiful Halkidiki region on mainland Greece, and you … Continue reading
A Little Loves catch up – Greek Holidays and Easter
I thought it was about time I did a Little Loves catch up, as I have really missed writing about what we have been up to. If you didn’t already know, we have just returned from our Greek holiday to Ikos Olivia in Halkidiki. This was our third visit to Ikos Olivia, and was every bit as amazing as our first visit back in 2016.
Since January I have been managing to read two books a month, mainly psychological thrillers which I am loving at the moment. … Continue reading
Regular readers will know how much we love Ikos Olivia, having holidayed there in 2016 and 2017. But from the 3rd May the Ikos family is growing, with the addition of Ikos Dassia located on the beautiful island of Corfu.
We visited Corfu back in 2014, when our friends got married in Corfu town. A stunning Greek island that offers beautiful beaches, amazing Greek hospitality, and of course an abundance of Greek gastronomy. And of course Ikos Dassia will be offering this, and much more for the discerning traveller.
Ikos Dassia is larger than its sister hotels of Oceania … Continue reading
I thought I had better update this post, as Ikos Olivia can no longer say it’s the 2nd best all inclusive hotel in the world. It has been voted THE BEST all inclusive hotel in not just Europe, but THE WORLD too. When I heard the news, which was announced on TripAdvisors 2018 Travellers’ Choice Awards, I was thrilled for all the staff at Ikos Olivia.
Sadly it was knocked off the top spot by Ikos Oceania in 2019, and was voted in 2nd place again after Oceania.
When we returned from our first visit, I wrote about how we … Continue reading
During our 4 night stay at Sani Dunes we wanted to experience as much of the Sani resort as we could. At Sani you can choose to be on the go from early morning through to late evening, or simply relax around Greece’s largest pool. Thankfully we struck a happy medium where we had plenty of pool relaxation, whilst still experiencing the amazing dining and activities on offer at Sani Dunes.
The Sani and Volvo Experience
Now this is an activity not to be missed, a 2 hour tour around the Kassandra Peninsula in a chauffer driven Volvo. Our driver … Continue reading
Another 2 weeks has passed since I last joined in with Little Loves, and what a fortnight. Last week we were in Greece, and this week has been a blur of high school transition days, work, family life, school reports, SATS results (both amazing) and orthodontic appointments for the teen. I am ready to flop on the sofa this evening with a bottle of wine and Gilmore Girls.
I am loving Big Little Lies (thanks to all the Little Loves people that have mentioned it in their posts recently). I am about half way through and it has … Continue reading
Last week I had the amazing opportunity to experience Sani Dunes, the latest luxury hotel to be built at the Sani Resort in Greece. Located in beautiful Halkidiki on mainland Greece, the resort is around 50 minutes from Thessaloniki airport.
The impeccable service that Sani is renowned for starts at the airport. Being greeted with a bottle of water and led to an air conditioned car was certainly welcome in the heat. And forget standing in a large queue to check in. At Sani Dunes you are welcomed with a cold towel, a refreshing spray of cold mist to … Continue reading
Well what a week that was. There was only one thing we were all talking about, and of course that was the heat. It has been far too hot to cook, and we have had a few meals out this week which has been lovely. You can’t beat family time, nice food and lots of chatter and laughing.
I haven’t read anything of interest this week.
Gorgeous fluffy owls flying. My husband had got me an Owl Experience for my birthday back in January, and only I could make the booking on the hottest day of the year. … Continue reading
I have had a complete break from blogging over the past fortnight, and whilst it has been nice to switch off, I am now itching to get back. If you follow me on instagram you may have noticed we have been in Greece. We returned to Ikos Olivia which is in Halkidiki, the most amazing 5* resort. We were treated like family when we arrived at the hotel, and we spent the week relaxing, eating and sampling the huge cocktail menu they have. The lovely Sarah from Extraordinary Chaos is there at the moment, and I am gutted our holidays … Continue reading
