I knew this would happen, booking a holiday 11 months before you travel does NOT make you more organised. With just over 3 weeks until our holiday to Mexico, the realisation has dawned on me that I need to buy things, book things, and pack things.
Now I love shopping on the internet, but hate waiting in for deliveries, so I tend to use a store’s click and collect service if they have one. One of my favourite shops at the moment is Debenhams, as they have a wide choice of plus size clothes, as well as offering click and collect to my local store at Cheshire Oaks.… Continue reading
I can finally say that one month today we will be on our way to Cancun, our Mexican holiday that was booked back in September last year. The thing with booking so far in advance is that you get the initial excitement, and then the holiday is put to the back of your mind. But with a month to go, I really need to start getting organised.
We are going All Inclusive to the Moon Palace hotel, which is situated on the outskirts of Cancun. We booked our holiday direct with the hotel, however if you prefer to book with a UK Operator, Holiday Gems has a wide range of hotels in Mexico.… Continue reading
With our upcoming holiday to Mexico now less than 70 days away, my thoughts have been turning to swimwear. Being plus size with big boobs, I must admit that buying a swimming costume is never my favourite thing to do. Thankfully this is where Ample Bosom makes things as easy as possible for me.
As you might guess from the name, Ample Bosom is the place to shop online if you are blessed with bigger boobs. They stock a great range of plus size swimsuits, and I have been buying my swimwear from them for several years. Being a regular swimmer, I need my swimsuits to be chlorine resistant, comfortable, and fairly flattering.… Continue reading
Half term is on the horizon, and if you are going on a family trip, I am pretty sure you are going to want to make sure that you get the best out of it.
If you are like me, you will probably have high hopes for your trip. They’re expensive, for a start, and with things like work and school, it can be tough to get the chance to spend quality time together, especially if you have older children in your family, like us. Here are some tips you can use to make sure you’re getting the most out of your next family trip.… Continue reading
Is it too early to start thinking about your summer holiday wardrobe ? As Yesterday was filled with beautiful sunshine, it got me thinking about our upcoming holiday. We may still have over 140 days to go until we head to beautiful Mexico, but it’s never too early to start planning holiday wear.
I last visited Mexico 17 years ago for our honeymoon, and over the years my holiday style has definitely changed. I used to have the confidence to wear shorts on holiday, but now I prefer to cover up my legs with beach dresses for the day, and long maxi dresses for the evening.… Continue reading
I was very kindly tagged by the lovely Stevie over at A Cornish Mum, to answer 20 random facts about myself.
When was the last time you cried ?
That is an easy one, as it was around 4.30pm on Tuesday. It has been a challenging and emotional week for me, and I have cried more times than usual. I am an emotional person and I tend to cry when I am sad, angry, upset, even happy. I even cried at the end of The Greatest Showman.
If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself ?… Continue reading
‘There are two gifts we should give our children. One is roots and the other is wings’
This quote has been at the forefront of my mind recently. Our eldest will be turning 16 in the summer, and I am well aware that we are on borrowed time when it comes to family holidays. It will soon be time for him to spread his wings, go off on his own adventures with his own friends. Every holiday has me treasuring the moments we are together as a family, even those times when he is bickering with his sister.
When Simpson Travel opened their travel ambassador programme, they wanted to know what inspired you about their holidays. … Continue reading
I thought I had better update this post, as Ikos Olivia can no longer say it’s the 2nd best all inclusive hotel in the world. It has been voted THE BEST all inclusive hotel in not just Europe, but THE WORLD too. When I heard the news, which was announced on TripAdvisors 2018 Travellers’ Choice Awards, I was thrilled for all the staff at Ikos Olivia.
When I wrote this post last year, we had only been to the hotel once. We returned last April and the service, as you would expect from a hotel that is crowned best in its category, was impeccable from start to finish.… Continue reading
About 6 months ago the teen arrived home from school clutching a letter which was promptly handed to me. Now this in itself is extraordinary as school letters often remain crumpled and unloved at the bottom of his school bag. And judging by the hopefulness spreading across his face, it was something he desperately wanted to do.
The letter was from the Geography department about an October trip to Iceland. A beautiful country where he would experience Plate Tectonics and Glaciation, all supporting his learning towards his GCSE Geography exam next year. And yes my husband and myself were very jealous of this amazing opportunity.… Continue reading
With another bank holiday on the horizon, people will be looking to spend a few nights under canvas. We used to love camping when the kids were little, but for the past 3 years the tent has stayed in the loft. I fear that camping may not be the same when the teenager realises that a tent does not come with a PS4 and superfast broadband.
We started camping when the kids were 3 and 6, and we have many happy camping memories. Our camping experiences were definitely a learning curve, and with each trip I learnt something new. The most important one, ALWAYS pack a corkscrew for your wine, yes a HUGE error on my part. … Continue reading
