We love our holidays and nothing beats that anticipation of your next trip away. But before you can truly relax with a cocktail in hand, there is plenty of booking and preparing for your next holiday. I love all the organisation of a holiday, and I have lists upon lists to help me. So I thought I would share a few things that work for me, prior to booking the holiday, and what works after, when you have that all important countdown to look forward to.

You may wonder why we keep on returning to the same hotel. The World is vast, with an abundance of beautiful locations, stunning hotels, and cities to explore. And whilst we love to to visit new places, the pull of Ikos Olivia is too hard to ignore. We first visited this luxury 5* hotel back in 2016, and after going to Mexico last year, I was ready to return to my little slice of heaven.

A Little Loves catch up – Greek Holidays and Easter

I thought it was about time I did a Little Loves catch up, as I have really missed writing about what we have been up to. If you didn’t already know, we have just returned from our Greek holiday to Ikos Olivia in Halkidiki. This was our third visit to Ikos Olivia, and was every bit as amazing as our first visit back in 2016.

The benefits of meeting locals when you travel

If you are planning on travelling, it could be a good idea to try and mix with the locals whilst you are away. In most places they are friendly, informative and very welcoming to visitors. Connecting with them in local bars, shops and villages will enhance your experience as it has many advantages.

The benefits of meeting locals when you travel

Some travel companies offer tours to the areas away from tourism, and these are well worth doing. In other places, local guides will operate tours and these can be very enlightening too.

A midweek catch up

I realised the other day that I haven’t done a catch up post for a few weeks, so today is the day that I sit down, open my laptop, and have a think about what we have been up to the past few weeks. It’s hard to think back to those few days of Spring we were blessed with, when the wind is currently blowing a gale outside. On the upside we are on serious countdown to our holiday, and 4 weeks today I will be sipping a Pina Colada in Greece.

Staying healthy on your holidays

Holidays are a time for relaxation and fun. The problem is that you will often be tempted to overindulge in both food and drink, and that could end up making you ill. There are other reasons you could become unwell. Things like water or ear infections, or local products that do not agree with you, and upset your stomach can all cause issues.

Staying healthy on your holidays

If you want to stay healthy while you are away, these few tips might help you to achieve that.

Watch The Alcohol Intake

Most people drink more alcohol than usual when they Continue reading

With less than 80 days to go until we escape to the sunshine in Greece, I am starting to think about my holiday wardrobe. I know it’s strange to be thinking about dresses, swimsuits and sandals when we are all bundled up for the winter, but I can’t wait to escape the cold and feel the warmth on my face.

Getting ready for Greece with Simply Be

We have been to the Halkidiki region twice during April, and the weather can be glorious in the day, and a little cooler during the evenings. I love getting dressed up at night, and as Ikos Olivia has a choice Continue reading

I love starting the year by looking back at our travels from the previous year, and hopefully this will give you some holiday ideas 2019. I always knew that 2018 would be the year we travelled less, mainly down to GCSEs which happened in May and June. This meant that we swopped our usual holiday in April, as the teen was revising over the Easter holidays, to going away over the Summer.

2018 - Looking back at our year of travel

Considering we were not meant to travel much during 2018, we still managed a total of 13 trips between us. We usually spend between £3500 and £4000 … Continue reading

Marbella… The resort that oozes luxury, million pound yachts, and no doubt has its fair share of beautiful people holidaying there. But Marbella isn’t just a playground for the rich and famous. I know a few people who have holidayed there this year, and it is definitely on my list of places to visit ‘once the kids leave home’. So why is Marbella on my ever growing list of places to visit.

Why I would love to visit Marbella one day

The beaches

Marbella has a very impressive 27km of beaches, with the sea completely safe for swimming in. Many of the beaches have pretty and welcoming beach bars, … Continue reading

Do you ever have certain hotels or holiday destinations you just have to visit ? Well the Moon Palace in Cancun is one of those resorts, and I have waited 17 years to get there. We went on our honeymoon to Mexico back in 2001, and I still have a slight regret we didn’t book the Moon Palace. Don’t get me wrong, we had an amazing honeymoon, but in the back of my mind I knew I had to visit The Grand Moon Palace one day.
