I love writing this post which gives me the chance to look back at our travels for the past year. In 2017 we managed 14 trips of 1 night or over. 2 of the trips have just been myself and the husband, 1 has been a girlie night away, 9 trips with the family, and the kids have enjoyed 2 school trips.
Our first trip of 2017 was to the beautiful city of Bath. Staying in a luxurious 3 bedroom lodge at Bath Mill Lodge Retreat, it was the perfect base to explore the city. We enjoyed visiting the Roman Baths, wandering around the stunning Bath Cathedral, and enjoyed a bus tour around the city.… Continue reading
Up until our little Northumberland trip we had only had 1 night away during the summer holidays, so our 3 day break to Slaley Hall was very much needed. After our traditional stop at Tebay Services on the M6 (the BEST services as it’s like your favourite farm shop opening up on a motorway) we arrived at our 3 bedroom lodge.
I knew what to expect as we had stayed at Slaley Hall last year, but you still get the wow factor when you first enter. We have stayed in A LOT of lodges over the years, and Slaley wins hands down for the biggest lodge.… Continue reading
Regular readers will know that we spent May half term with Q Lodges, and I posted last week about the luxurious lodge we stayed in. We visited Slaley Hall near Hexham, and we were looking forward to exploring the local area as we have never been to Northumberland. However there was so much to do at Slaley Hall, we didn’t even leave the resort until it was time to go home. A stay here really can be as relaxing or as non stop as you want it to be. We managed a good balance of family fun activities, great dining experiences and a little pampering time for me.… Continue reading
During the May half term break, we spent 3 nights at the luxurious Slaley Hall resort in Northumberland. We were invited by Q Lodges to stay in a 3 bedroom lodge, and experience what Slaley Hall has to offer. I first heard about Q Lodges when Sarah, from Extraordinary Chaos stayed at Slaley Hall back in October. Sarah is the Q Hotels Ambassador, and she is doing an amazing job of highlighting the facilities that Q offers for families.
Readers will know that as a family we LOVE lodge holidays, and it is our first choice of accommodation when staying in the UK.… Continue reading
Here we are at the end of half term and what a fantastic week we have had. On Monday we went to Geronimo at Tatton Park, which was an amazing family friendly festival. On Wednesday we travelled up to Northumberland and stayed at Slaley Hall with Q Lodges. We returned back home yesterday, and I am still smiling about our wonderful trip.
I had every intention of finishing my book when we went to Slaley Hall, but late nights seemed to get in the way. I did however read the guide to Northumberland which was in the lodge, if that counts.… Continue reading
You know when you arrive somewhere for the very first time, and you instantly know you are going to love it. That is how I felt when we arrived at Q Lodges, Slaley Hall yesterday just after 4pm. It took 3 hours to drive from Cheshire to Hexham in Northumberland, and I didn’t realise what a straight forward journey it would be. Check in for the lodges is in the main hotel, and as soon as you enter the reception area you realise what a breathtaking place Slaley Hall is. We were given our keys, information pack and also our golf buggy keys. … Continue reading
