Two weeks into the school holidays and so far so good. Though I must admit as the kids are getting older they make their own entertainment, and I am a glorified taxi driver and bank clerk. But I can’t complain as I am currently sat in Starbucks, with an overpriced drink and my laptop.
Looking back, July was a pretty good month. The teen finished his NCS experience, Katie broke up for the summer, we said goodbye to year 7 and year 11, there was a romantic night away with the husband, I went on a Spa night away to Ribby Hall with 2 girlfriends, meals out, catching up with friends, and of course wall to wall sunshine for weeks on end.… Continue reading
It is always my intention to get my Little Loves post out on a Friday, but I have spectacularly failed this week as it’s now Sunday evening. Looking back it has been a pretty ‘normal’ few weeks, and I can tell from the lack of pictures I have taken that life has been filled with school, work, and just the usual life stuff.
I read a lovely message from one of the teen’s teachers, who said that Morgan was extremely lucky to have such a supportive family, and that it shone through in him. Parenting teens is HARD WORK, and parenting teens going through GCSEs is even harder, so it was lovely to hear that we are getting parts of this parenting journey right.… Continue reading
How has it been 3 weeks since I last joined in with Little Loves. Time seems to run away with me in the week, and it always takes me a few weeks to settle back into the routine of school. Getting used to packed lunches, school admin and ironing uniforms again. But thankfully no more school runs for me, as both children walk to high school. Here is a little look back at the past 3 weeks.
Reading lots of Trip Advisor reviews ahead of booking our summer holiday. Don’t get me wrong as I know some reviews you need to take with a pinch of salt, but I honestly think I could sit on Trip Advisor all day.… Continue reading
I have really missed writing up my Little Loves post over the summer, and I am glad the weekly link up is back after its summer break. I last wrote a Little Loves post back on the 27th July, a post that was filled with emotion as Katie had just finished primary school. Fast forward 6 and a bit weeks and she has just started high school, thankfully with a lot less emotion from me. So my Little Loves this week is a look back at our summer holidays.
My aim was to read 2 books during the summer holidays and I achieved this.… Continue reading

So another fortnight has passed, and I am currently sat in a cold home as our heating has completely packed in. But I won’t dwell on the negatives, as this post is about the little things that have made me smile. So among the doom and gloom of a frozen house, here are this fortnight’s Little Loves.
I finally started Summer at Shell Cottage last night. Mainly down to the fact that I promised I would make a start in my last Little Loves post. I have a read a few of Lucy Diamond’s books now, and I am sure this one won’t disappoint.… Continue reading
I usually write my Little Loves post sat in my blogging office, aka the dining room table. But this evening I am sat at David Lloyd whilst the husband watches the football. Being a Welshman he is trying very hard not to shout and occasionally swear, as his beloved country tries to reach the semi finals. In what has been a pretty ‘meh’ week all round with us leaving the EU, resignations galore and a broken washing machine, here are my little loves in amongst the chaos.
I seem to be out of my routine of reading actual books, but I do try and keep on top of my blog reading and commenting.… Continue reading
