Last weekend the husband and I had a fantastic break away in a 5* hotel in Chester. We explored, we drank, we ate and we pinched ourselves that we were staying in a 5* hotel, something neither of us had done before. The rest of the week was spent decorating our playroom. And with any DIY project the whole house seems to be up the wall. I am currently sat in the dining room surrounded by a huge Barbie house and LOTS of toys. Hopefully it will all be done by the end of the weekend. Amongst the chaos of last week, here are my little loves.
Read
My guilty pleasure of reading all about Z list celebrities in OK. Husband got me a 6 month subscription for my birthday, and I have been heading to bed each evening for a quick catch up.
Watched
We really have not watched anything else apart from The Affair. We are nearing the end of season 1, and I have been totally hooked from the first episode. I love that a few people have said that season 2 is even better. It’s quite gripping and I have no idea how it is going to turn out in the end.
Heard
Loud music, in a bar, in the middle of Chester, drinking alcoholic drinks and having a night off being a Mum. Needless to say we had a fantastic night and after nearly 17 years together, I love that we still get on so well.
Made
I told my husband a few weeks ago not to bother with Valentines gifts this year. And then I came up with the idea of doing a ‘free’ Valentines Day, card included. He made me a beautiful card and I even got flowers. He printed them off the internet, stuck them onto some straws we had, and popped them in a vase. I LOVE them.
Wore
I bought myself a new top and jacket for our night away. It’s only from Asda but the jacket was a bargain at £16, and I think the top was £14. Totally failed in getting a picture of me wearing it, so here it is hanging up.
And lastly
We have a night out with friends to look forward to tonight. I can’t wait to have a catch up and have a few Gin and Tonics. Have a great week x
Tracey it is so great to go on a kid free break isn’t it? I love traveling with the boys but couple time is so important too, and love the flowers bless him xx
The flowers certainly made me smile and top marks to him for thinking outside the box. We have been very lucky this year as we have already managed 2 kid free breaks and its only February x
Your break in Chester sounds blissful, it’s so lovely to have time away isn’t it? Especially when it’s at a 5* hotel! 😉
Hope to see you linking up for Little Loves tomorrow xx
Thank you Morgana and also for hosting. Love spending time away with the husband, even after nearly 15 years of being married. The 5* hotel was obviously amazing x
