If you have ever visited LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Manchester, there is a good chance you would have watched a short film in the fantastic 4D cinema. THE LEGO MOVIE 4D A NEW ADVENTURE, is the brand new movie which will be shown in the 4D cinema, and we were very excited to be invited along to watch a preview.
The 12 minute film still features the favourite characters of Emmet, Wyldstyle, MetalBeard, Unikitty and Benny, but there is also a brand new villain called Risky Business. The short film took around 16 months to shoot, with a team of nearly 200 people involved. WOW imagine the work that must have gone into making the full Lego movie.
We arrived at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre just after 7pm, and Katie got the chance to meet some of the stars of the show. Before the film started we were able to enjoy LEGOLAND at our leisure, and first stop was the factory tour which was good fun as always. No trip to LEGOLAND is complete without doing battle on the Kingdom Quest, the interactive laser shooting ride. As usual I came last….. one day I WILL be victorious and beat my family.
It was then time to enjoy the preview of the film, and we grabbed our glasses and our complimentary popcorn. The action-packed plot sees the stars of the film receive a mysterious invitation leading them to a new theme park. But all is not as it seems as the heroes are once again thrust into the middle of an evil secret plot, masterminded by a new character, the scheming Risky Business. It’s up to Emmet and Wyldstyle, enlisting the Master Builder skills of the audience, to try and save the day. The film is fantastic and you can catch it at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre now.
After the film we stayed and enjoyed the attraction till 9pm. We have not visited LEGOLAND for a few years, and it was nice to return. Katie loved the addition of the Lego Friends area, and the husband took the job of building and racing his Lego cars very seriously.
Ticket prices start from just £9.95 per person and under twos go free. Families can take advantage of discounts when booking in advance. For more information or to book tickets, please visit the website.
