The other weekend I was lucky to be whisked off to stay in a courtyard suite at Carden Park Hotel, which is nestled in the beautiful Cheshire countryside. This was our 3rd visit to the hotel, and I was really excited to be going back as I knew the Spa had been updated since our last visit.
From the moment you turn into Carden Park you know you are somewhere really special, and the first glimpse of the hotel always takes my breathe away. Rooms are either located in the main hotel or in the courtyard outside. We were given directions to our room in the main hotel, but when we got inside I could tell from my husband’s face something was wrong. He had booked an executive room and had asked for a room in the courtyard. A quick trip to reception and everything was resolved.
Except there had been no executive rooms left in the courtyard, and the manager on reception (Ollie) had upgraded us to a suite. And WOW what an amazing suite it was. It was incredibly spacious with the biggest bed I have ever slept in, hallway, a dressing area plus living room with dining room table. I could have lived there. The service Ollie had offered was impeccable, and I will be forever grateful for our upgrade to the Troon Suite, a courtyard suite at Carden Park hotel.
Once inside we didn’t want to leave our beautiful suite so we spent the next few hours just relaxing. You don’t usually get the chance to sit down, have a nice coffee whilst reading Cheshire Life on a normal Saturday. And you know your husband has chosen an excellent hotel when they have The White Company toiletries in the bathroom. Yes it’s the little things that matter to me.
We had a dinner reservation at 8.45pm in The Vines Restaurant, Carden Park. Initially I was really disappointed that we were not dining in the more formal Redmond’s Restaurant. But I loved the vibe of The Vines restaurant, and once again the service was outstanding.
My husband had booked a dinner, bed and breakfast deal, and we were given £25 each to spend on a meal. We chose the warm bread for starters, and oh my goodness it was the largest starter we have ever seen. One between us would have been fine. For my main I had the steak, which was one of the nicest steaks I have ever had.
Afterwards we sat in the bar, had a few drinks and took in the atmosphere. Considering it was still January the hotel seemed really busy which is nice to see.
The next morning we decided to have the ultimate treat in getting breakfast delivered to our room. Well it would be a shame not to use the dining room table. I think we were feeding the five thousand when the breakfast was delivered.
We checked out at 11am and headed for the Spa. The Spa area has a large pool which has a separate lane for swimming, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room plus heated beds. It was quite busy when we first arrived, but 30 minutes later and we virtually had the pool to ourselves. Just watch yourself when walking around the Spa area as it is really slippy.
After a few hours relaxing in the Spa and a spot of lunch, it was time to head home to reality. Our 24 hours away had been wonderful. Carden Park goes above and beyond in the way they treat their customers, and because of their amazing service I am sure we will be back. Infact I have my eye on the wonderful Sunday lunch they offer (hint to the husband, its Mothers Day soon.)
We recently returned to Carden Park in July 2019 and once again stayed in a stunning Courtyard Suite at Carden Park.
My husband paid £200 for 1 night dinner, bed and breakfast, plus bottle of wine in our room and access to the Spa.
Tracey it looks fantastic, I am visiting in a couple of week I cant wait x
You will have a great time Sarah. Its such a beautiful hotel with the most amazing service x
