2013

I have really enjoyed reading people’s blog posts today as they look back at the year we will say good bye to in 4 and a half hours, and I thought I would round up our 2013.

Some of the highlights of the year have included

Going back to Disneyworld Florida for the 3rd year on the run, and staying in a Disney hotel for the full 2 weeks. We were totally immersed in the Disney bubble for the whole time and it was great !

We renewed our Merlin Annual Passes again, and for the first time we experienced the Alton Towers fireworks which were amazing.… Continue reading

Winter Wonderland

On Sunday we were lucky to visit Winter Wonderland which is situated in Event City in Manchester (next to the Trafford Centre). I had been following Winter Wonderland on facebook and they had been getting some great feedback, so myself, husband and our 2 children aged 11 and 7 were excited to visit.

You can book your tickets on their website, and they run 2 sessions each day apart from Christmas and New Years Eve. We opted for the early session on Sunday which was 11am till 3pm. A further session runs 4.30pm till 8.30pm. We arrived at Event City just after 11am, and found there was plenty of parking spaces.… Continue reading

No free lunch

So the question is….. Is there such thing as a free lunch ? Of course there is providing you go and gate crash your Mum’s Sunday lunches, turn up at your friend’s house demanding they cook you tea, or having a free toddler lunch at work (I work in a Nursery) ! But how about a free lunch in a fairly posh restaurant.

Well one day whilst I was on the Martin Lewis website, I came across the Club Individual Loyalty card. They were offering an incentive of £20.00 added to the card when you signed up. I quickly filled in the form, and waited a few weeks for my shiny card to arrive.… Continue reading

Santa and HeadphonesWell its that time of year when I can finally breathe a sigh of relief, as nearly everything has been ticked off the present buying lists. One thing I still need to buy is headphones. My 11 year old son requested these, as he spends time listening to music on his ipad. He also requested that they are wireless. Now being nearly 40 and not down with the kids, I thought that all headphones came with wires. I then drifted back several thousand years to a Sunday evening, when I would plug my headphones in and listen to the top 40.… Continue reading

So today I finished wrapping some more presents and decided to photograph this lovely little bundle of gifts. The lucky recipient on Christmas day will be my hubby. I know….. he is a lucky boy. Except all these gifts cost exactly £10. Yep me and the hubby have a strict budget of a tenner, and have done this since having kids. We prefer to put our money towards gifts for the children, and days out around Christmas. And it has to be exactly £10. not under or over even by a penny. And no going to Poundland and getting 10 things….… Continue reading

CP Xmas 2 years ago we were lucky enough to spend the Christmas break at Centerparcs. We had been 4 times around the Christmas period for their Winter Wonderland, but never for Christmas Day itself. We only booked the break at the beginning of December, and after deliberating about it for weeks, a stressful day at work for my hubby gave me the YES love you can book it.

The next few weeks were a blur of excitement and mild panic. Panic from my daughter as to how Father Christmas would find us. As we were booked to see Father Christmas on Christmas Eve, I suggested we let him know our lodge number.… Continue reading
