All set for her 9th Birthday Party

All set for her 9th Birthday Party

Well its that time on a Sunday evening where we all wonder where did the weekend go ? It has been a great weekend for The Williams. I thought it might be a little depressing as we were at Centerparcs last weekend, but we had 2 fun filled events to keep us smiling. The first one was on Friday evening, where I enjoyed the company of One Direction, Katy Perry and 4 screaming girls ! Actually scrap that, it was a whole theatre of screaming females. AND it wasn’t even the real One Direction, so god knows what the screams would be like if I ever get the misfortune to be at a REAL concert.… Continue reading

Las Iguanas

Last Thursday it was my birthday, and as the husband had booked the day off work we decided to go for lunch. As I can’t possibly go out to eat without using a voucher, I searched the internet for restaurants offering ‘birthday deals’. These can range from a free pudding, free drink or sometimes a main meal. I found Las Iguanas offered a free main meal, and as we were heading to Cheshire Oaks to do some shopping, we decided to eat there. I printed off the voucher and headed off with the husband for a day of fun.

After a few hours of shopping, and husband rolling his eyes as I was taking too long, we decided it was time for lunch.… Continue reading

We have just returned from an awesome weekend at Centerparcs.  As a family we are all avid lovers of the place, and each year takes us back there. I booked this break back in June, but we decided to tell the children on THURSDAY night, when we went out for a meal for my birthday. It was lovely to see them so excited for the weekend ahead. I gave the tween strict instructions to be home from school on time on Friday, quick change out of uniforms and we were on the M6 heading up to Whinfell. A few hours later and we were in our lodge.… Continue reading

Well seeing as though my last blog post was titled ‘Goodbye 2014’ I thought this one should be ‘Hello 2015’

Sitting on the sofa the other day, whilst eating the dregs of the chocolate box, I decided to do a Bucket List for this coming year. Bucket Lists are really popular, and as I LOVE a good list I set to work. As with our Summer Bucket list, this years list does feature heavily around holidays and days out. You can tell I was the list writer ! So I thought I would share my our list. Some of the things can be done easily such as ordering a house number.… Continue reading

My amazing 40th birthday cake

My amazing 40th birthday cake

I turned the big 40 back in January. My husband did me proud and made me feel like a princess. The highlights included a Limo filled with my friends, meal with family and friends which included a magician and an amazing Disney Castle cake, Spa day with just me and the hubs, weekend at Centerparcs, weekend just me and the hubs in an amazing lodge nestled in the forest in York.… Continue reading

This year we decided to go away for Christmas. This is something we did back in 2011 when we went to Centerparcs, and we loved being away. Now I know its not for everybody, and people love being at home surrounded by their family. I knew my parents would not be around for Christmas day. When a mailer came through my door offering me Christmas breaks for 50% off, I was on the phone and booked within the hour !

Winter Wonderland is back for its second year at Event City in Manchester. We went last year and loved it, and I was delighted to be given the chance to review it again this year. Winter Wonderland is based indoors, right next to the Trafford Centre in Manchester. It’s open from 13th December to the 4th January, so plenty of time still to visit. Tickets can be booked online, and the price for a family ticket is £60.00.  This will give you 4 hours inside Winter Wonderland, and they typically run 2 sessions most days. All the sessions available can be viewed on their website.… Continue reading

Pantomime season is in full swing and on Saturday evening we went to our local theatre, The Brindley, to watch Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. I am ashamed to say that as a family we have never been to watch a Pantomime at the theatre. Usually the kids go and watch it with school or cubs, but this year there were no trips planned. I know the pantomime is really popular with local people, and I was really excited to go and have some Christmas family time. We had actually met some of the stars of the pantomime back in September, when The Brindley celebrated their 10th birthday.… Continue reading

The Williams household became all festive on Friday. Well when I say festive, there is no tinsel or sparkly decorations hanging from the ceiling. I am definitely in the ‘less is more’ camp when it comes to Christmas decorations. Anyway I thought I would share our festive living room. Plus I always forget where everything goes, so will be nice to look back on this post in a years time !

This is the first Christmas since we did our living room back in March, and this year I had new units and our marble fireplace to decorate.  I love the garland over the mantelpiece which was bought from Tesco a few years ago for £10.00.… Continue reading
