On Tuesday we visited Blackpool Pleasure Beach. We last visited around 10 years ago when our son was a baby, and we were all looking forward to our day out which happened to also be on hubbys 42nd birthday. As I am a complete money saver when it comes to days out, I ordered 3 tickets from my Tesco Clubcard. I then purchased 1 more child ticket when we got there for £26.99. The whole day for the 4 of us would have been £123.98 !
We got to the Pleasure Beach for 10.15am and exchanged our tickets for wristbands and entered the park.… Continue reading
Apparently I have a tween. A real breathing sometimes grumpy tween. I must admit a few months ago I kept seeing the word ‘tween’ on twitter and had no idea I was living with one. Wikipedia tells me a tween is a person who is between 10 and 12. Cool I have a 11 year old so yes I am a mother of a tween. Basically a tween is a pre teen if you had not figured that out already. If tween is not in the English dictionary, I am sure it will be very soon along with twerking !
Anyway I wanted to blog about the past 5 weeks in our house.… Continue reading
I LOVE holidays to the point where I think I am bordering on becoming a holiday addict. I suppose there are worse things to be addicted to… though I am sure the credit card would not agree.
Its funny as when I met my husband we only went on 2 holidays before we had the children. One of them was to Benidorm for a week (I dont actually remember much about this holiday… All inclusive… lots of vodka… say no more) and the other was to Mexico for our Honeymoon.
We went on our first holiday when our first born was 9 months old.… Continue reading
I LOVE Centerparcs !!!
We as a family have been incredibly lucky to have stayed at Whinfell Forest 8 times (10 times for me as I have been on 2 girlie holidays there too). And in January 2014 we are off there again to celebrate my daughters 8th birthday and my ahem 40th !!!
So when I started blogging and found that Centerparcs run a competition to find family bloggers – I was more than a little excited. Now I am not the best creative person to grace this planet. However I headed over to Movie Maker, armed with pictures of us all enjoying Centerparcs as a family over the past 7 years, and managed to make this
Hope you enjoy it and best of luck to everyone entering this fantastic competition… Continue reading
Last weekend I was fortunate enough to go away for a WHOLE weekend with no kids or husband. My best friend turns 40 in November, and her fantastic husband had paid for her to hire a lodge with a hot tub. So after a meeting to discuss who would be taking what (well we basically just needed a swimsuit and alcohol for the weekend !!) it was time for Friday and our weekend could begin. After packing the kids off to school, of course with a big hug and several kisses from me, it was time to load the car. I actually thought I was going away for about 2 weeks judging how full the car was.… Continue reading
Last week I noticed on twitter that a few bloggers were asking for people who were new to blogging. I put my hand up in answer to this question and promptly replied to Craig over at http://adayinthisdadslife.blogspot.co.uk/. Craig has been nominated for a Liebster Award for 2013. The Liebster Award recognises new bloggers and some say it is a nice welcome to the wonderful world of blogging. So where do I fit in ?
Well Craig had to answer 11 questions and in turn he had to select new bloggers to do the same. So make yourself a cuppa and enjoy my question and answer session.… Continue reading
I am linking this post (which is my very first blog post from September 2013) with Tots100 Be Inspired linky looking back at Summer memories
Remember the summer holidays ? We have got 4 days of school runs under our belt, and I must admit the summer holidays now seem a distant memory. I was lucky enough to have most of the school holidays off, and I knew I wanted to keep the kids busy. We love our holidays as a family and I always start thinking about the summer holidays around Easter time. As we had been to Florida in May I knew our holidays had to be fairly cheap, but I also wanted a few breaks away.… Continue reading
